Hello fellow Navy families. I'm having a toughy over here. My boyfriend of (coming up on Christmas Eve) 5 years left for BC on Sept 2, 2014. We recently got a place together, on August 15. We lived together for the past 3.5 years. We've been inseparable, hes my best friend. This honestly has to be one of the biggest heartaches I've felt. I'm not totally sure how to deal with this. I was hoping for my boyfriend to send off "The Box" & "Form Letter" to our home. But he said was scared the Navy Personnel over there may question the address since his address is his Father's. I know I'm only the
girlfriend" but we plan on getting married in the near future. & as time came closer, he kept dropping hints that us getting married will be happening anytime before he goes to his first station. I've been trying to keep myself busy. Knowing how I've got work 4-5 days a week. But time just seems to go by very slow. Not sure how to make the days go by faster. I've heard of people saying to count the Fridays but either way, it all seems so far away. I've had friends come over. & his family seems to have quite a bit of family parties. But seeing them & hes not there, honestly brings all of those emotional feelings back. I've been crying since we found out at the first MEPs swear in, which is when he found out his ship out date. & am still crying until now. I know it's not healthy, but I've lost my appetite & feel like I just wanna curl into a ball. But I know I have to be strong. But it's just so hard to at this point.

Any advice?

I left info for you on your My Page.

Hey, im having the same feelings ur having and my boyfriend don't leave for another 2 weeks.my boyfriend and I are very attached. My suggestion would be to keep yourself busy. Write letters to him everyday telling him about your day as if he never left. At least that's what I plan to do. That's probably easier said then done since I'm not actually goin through it yet, But my prayers go out to you and your sailor and I wish you the best of luck!!
