My son is also leaving from st louis on the 9th of september! and I feel just like you.
Hi, I feel the same way too !! My son leaves 9/9 from Anaheim. I'm trying to be strong and just enjoy every moment I have with him until he leaves.
I feel exactly like you do, my son just left yesterday and I can not believe how bad this hurts. I know it will get easier but ouch .....how are you doing now?
My son leave on the 9th as well; we are from Entiat Washington. He flies out of Spokane on Tuesday and we have a small cheerleading squad going to watch the swearing in and to see him to the airport. Am getting teary-eyed just writing this....
Got my call!
My son left for boot camp from Albany, NY 09/09/14. There were 2 other recruits who left with him so I was thankful he wasn't alone for the start of this wonder journey and next chapter in his life. The people working at the MEPS center were very organized and informative. We had some laughs with other families and enjoyed the final moments together before all the recruits from all branches of the service loaded the bus for the airport. Thanks to cell phones he was able to keep in touch with us until that final call in the Great Lakes letting us know he arrived safely, what to expect next and the final "I love you".
This morning we opened a letter that we promised we wouldn't open until we knew he had arrived in boot camp. Needless to say the flood of emotions was overwhelming. His letter was full of pride, love and his sense of humor. I can't wait for the first one to come from the Great Lakes.
