Hi everyone. My name is Natalie and my SR is Ship 14 Division 318 in PIR 10/10/14,
I have been asked to start a Discussion about the Basket Project for our Meet and Greet on Thursday October 9th. I know it is still early we have 7 Fridays still to go, but the time will fly by and soon we will be in Great Lakes waiting for our SRs to graduate.
We are putting together a Basket Raffle at the Meet & Greet with proceeds going to offset the cost of the Meet and Greet. We are asking for donations of baskets.
A basket can consist of anything. There is a suggested minimum of $20, if you want to go more that would be awesome.
Ideas for basket. They are not limited to just these ideas.
Basket representing the State your SR is from (or any state you love :) (ie: could include state souvenir items, food, etc,) Wine, Tea, Coffee. Holidays (ie: Christmas, Easter, Thanksgiving, Columbus Day (PIR is Columbus weekend), Summer, the beach, Military, Sport teams, Nascar, pets, reading, kids, Avon, Tastefully Simple, Bath & Beauty, crafts, items from a business you own etc.
In previous PIRs those travelling by plane have used totes, or gift bags as "baskets"
If you plan on donating, have any suggestions, comments or questions either comment here or send me a message. I have also posted on our Facebook PIR groups about baskets. I want as many of us involved as possible. I am looking forward to meeting as many of you as I can.
Lets have some FUN and raise money for our Meet and Greet.
Thank you

Sarge's Meet and Greet baskets update: We are less than 5 weeks away for PIR YAY!!! As of today we have 19 baskets promised for the Meet & Greet. I would love to get more baskets. Could everyone spread the word please? The proceeds from the auction of the Baskets goes to Sarge to help with a future Meet & Greet. He and his wife do an AWESOME job for the families and our SR's. At the Meet & Greet he gives loads of information that will help all of us out. IF you are unable to make the Meet & Greet an would like to donate a basket anyway, I would be happy to take it for you. I am driving so have plenty of room. Thank you and looking forward to meeting all of you!!!
Here is what I got today for my baskets so far. Yes the Navy Bear baskets are included, I will be doing a PA, a basket local to my area and a basket for where my SR was born :) We are up to 23 baskets!!!
We are less than 4 weeks away from the Meet & Greet and PIR. We are now up to 32 baskets promised. Thank you everyone. If anyone would like to donate and you have not told me yet, please comment here, or send me a private message. I am also on the FB PIR groups.
