Here's the phone # for the Foster Creek Villas (on base): 843.794.2120. Usually your sailor will have to make the reservation but I know some parents have got lucky & been able to book it themselves. They have 1, 2 & 3 bedrooms available.

Revised link - 4/9/18:
I just called the Villas (I explained to her I was getting info for our nuke mom's site & she was very helpful). Here's what she said:
*Anyone with military ID can make the reservation. In most of our cases that would just be our sailor!
*Reservations can be made up to 3 months in advance.
*The credit card used must match the name of whomever makes the reservation. I asked if it could be changed to the parents CC at check in and she said no. (so you would have to reimburse your sailor after the fact).
*If you are making reservations for a graduation THERE IS NO REFUND/CANCELLATION. Any other time if you cancel more than 30 days in advance you would get a full refund. If you cancel less than 30 days in advance you would lose the first night.
B'sNukeMom,
Thanks for the information on Foster Creek Villas.
We stayed at the Residence Inn Mariott in North Charleston. It was about 15 minutes from base, but seemed closer. We had a 2 bedroom suite, with a full kitchen and a pull-out couch. It was great having places to sit and relax. They also have a fabulous breakfast every day, and Mon-Thurs a complimentary supper that was really good, too.
Check out the Angel Oak tree. It was mentioned in only one tour book. Best of all, it's free. It's supposed to be the oldest tree east of the Mississippi. I don't think five people could even reach their arms around it, the tree was so massive.
We went in August and stayed at the Best Western in Ladson, just up the road from Goose Creek. It was very nice and affordable. A hot breakfast was included. Took about 15-20 minutes to get to base. It is literally just off I-26 and so we just hopped down the highway for one exit and headed to the base. I would definitely recommend staying there.
We stayed at Candlewood Suites this past time at Goose Creek, (on Northwest Blvd. in North Charleston, just off Ashley-Phosphate Rd.) The room was a one room suite with full kitchen and a big bathroom. The rates were really good, (I think we payed about $80). They didn't have breakfast, so for the savings we bought a loaf of bread, jelly and some eggs and made our own each day. They also don't have housekeeping service, so you make your own bed and exchange towels when you need to. We thought it was a great deal for the price and would stay there again. It was 15 minutes from base, right by the mall, Best Buy, Olive Garden and alot of things within walking distance. So much is right within that couple block area.
We stayed at the Air Force Base housing our son had to book it and get us on base. When you get to the gate,,, make sure you get a PASS or you will not be able to get back in without your sailor! We were not military ourselves.
Does anyone have recommendations for pet friendly places to stay near GC. Once my sailor gets settled in GC & has the ability to have some leave on weekends, my hubby & I want to drive down with our 100 lb Cane Corso. She and our son are very close.
The Foster Creek Villas on base do allow pets (not sure if there is a weight limit though!). Look up above - I posted the link & their #. I think La Quinta Inns are also pet friendly.
Awesome! Thanks B'sNukeMom
I called LaQuinta & verified that they are pet friendly. Only issue it they have a 60lb max weight limit. The manager that I talked to said that when it came time to make the reservation that I should make sure that I talk to her and explain that the kid is stationed at GC, that his dog is over the weight limit & they would make an exception. Oh the joys of having a large breed dog.
I will call Foster Creek here in a few minutes once they are open.
