Hello everyone! My son left for boot camp today. It was a very proud moment watching him get sworn in. This day seemed if come fast and I can't believe he's gone. I am not sure how to feel at this point. I am so very happy for him and sad at the same time. I am happy I found this site! If anyone has any advise or information that will help me through the next few months I would love to hear it! My 9 yr old daughter is having a hard time, she has been his sidekick and they are very close.

I feel the same way! I am anxious, happy, sad and missing his voice! When I received his box yesterday it made me sad too! Have you received the form letter yet? I received my sons form letter 2 days ago and his box yesterday. The writing on the form letter did not look like my sons handwriting, I guess they are already making changes. It's normal to be sad, it's not silly. I think we all wonder what's next. I keep wondering when he will be able to call or if he will be able to call. I worry I will miss his call.
I just received my scripted phone call from my son. Very proud of my son. Just emotional about him being gone.

Jennifer, I left info for you on your My Page.

He's not alone, he's meeting a lot of new friends who are all feeling the same way. :) that's what I have to keep telling myself.
I am also at a loss as what to do. My son left a couple days ago and I miss him so much! I wasn't prepared for this at all!
I feel the same way. I honestly don't think there is a way to be prepared.

angellchristine, I left info for you on your My Page.
