Welcome to the Division Discussion for Divisions 019 and 020

These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important Every single concern is genuine Every single member is important to us We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

Hi everyone!!  My daughter is in Div 020.  We're from Ohio.   So very proud of her and excited for this new journey she in on!

Hi!  My son is in Div 019.  We confirmed our hotel yesterday and are looking forward to the long weekend!  We have no idea how much time he will have for us after Thanksgiving, but I am not going to risk missing a minute of it!  I am looking forward to getting the first "real" letter from him!

codysmom,

Hi!  My son is in the same division.  Where is he going to after boot camp?  My son is in the nuke program and going to South Carolina.  Maybe our sons know one another.  We booked our hotel and flight on Monday.  We are so lucky that we get extra time with our sailors.  Can't wait.  I haven't received a letter yet from my son either.  Hopefully, in a few days.

Take care.

Denise

Hi fordfamily,

I just read that you booked your hotel, may I ask where?  I've been calling and checking on rates.  Thank you

I originally booked the Courtyard by Marriott at $116 per night.  However, I looked into the Navy Lodge in Great Lakes and booked it.  Rates are $66 per night for 2 queen beds and no tax.  Check it out on line. You have to them them that your child is graduating and they sponsor us.  It just means the reservation is in their name. I heard great reviews from everyone on this site.  It's only 1.9 miles to the base too.  I figured I would try it since we are staying 4 days and need 2 rooms.  Things get pricey.  Hope this helps.

I did the same thing originally booked at the Holiday Inn Express $92. a night. Cancelled and we are now staying at the Navy Lodge.  Really good rate and great reviews from what I've seen!

I hope we like it.  It will be fun to meet everyone.  I plan on booking a shuttle for PIR when we get there.  That's what Navy Lodge told me to do. What day are you arriving?  We will get there late on Monday, Nov. 24th.  Our flight arrives at 11:20 PM and then we have to get a rental car and drive to the Lodge.

we will be getting there late Tues night driving from Ohio. I have our room booked through Sat.

thank you fordfamily for the info.  I was going to look into that one as well.  Hope to meet all you on PIR  :)
