Welcome to the Division Discussion for Divisions 035 and 036
These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.
Get to know each other, your SRs are!
Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.
Every single question that is asked is important Every single concern is genuine Every single member is important to us We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.
Hang in there!!!

There are all male divisions and integrated divisions.
Occasionally we have seen all female divisions, but it is rare. There was talking of having all female divisions regularly but I do not know if that came about. The last I knew of was when the W.A.V.E.S. sponsored one and so it was all female.
Spoke with my SR this weekend. He seems to mention two friends in his division Michael an Stelling. Hope you all got phone calls this weekend ours was short but sure good to hear from him. I had meant to ask if he got his nuke rating yet. If any one knows if they have given those out yet please let me know.
Received a letter this week and our SR also mentioned Stelling. As well as Matthews, Hunter and an SR he called Gonzo. Happy he is making what is likely life long friends. He says they are a blessing to him in BC.
Waiting for another phone call. His letter states he would call possibly this weekend.
my husband is Matthews! My husband said he is making life long friends. Hope i get to meet you!
Hi, Katie. This is Tyler's mom :) Can't wait to see you and meet Gabe!
We are so excited and I know you must be ready to bust with joy!!
See you in a few days!! YAY!
I'm trying to find out about the Adopt a Sailor Program for Thanksgiving. Does the SR have to sign up for this program or how does it work. We will not be able to be there for Thanksgiving as we live in Arkansas and will be traveling up there for graduation the following weekend. It will hurt me so bad to think that he is spending Thanksgiving alone. Thanks for any responses.
Don't worry, your SR's won't be alone. :-)
Adopt -a-Sailor is an event allowing the Recruits of the two most Senior TG's at RTC to be adopted out off of RTC to celebrate the holiday. The two Senior TG's would be the ones that graduate one and two weeks following the holiday. This happens at Thanksgiving and Christmas. All Recruits of those two TG's leave the base for the day (usually returned to base by 8 PM) None are left behind.
The recruits have the opportunity to be adopted out by their own immediate family. They send a request form home to be filled out and sent back by a specified date if their family was going to be able to do so. Recruits may not be taken off base by family unless the form has been sent back to RTC. So no last minute adoptions. I believe each recruit is able to have one fellow recruit from their division (of the same gender) go along with them for the day.
Those recruits that do not have family adopt them for the day are adopted in large groups by local churches and civic organizations. They are fed a wonderful dinner and have time to relax and enjoy the day. Many organizations provide cell phones and computers for the Recruits to contact family.
This year's two Senior TG's that will participate in Thanksgiving Adopt-a-Sailor are 12/05 and 12/12.
I have gotten 1 real letter and 1 form letter where he circled the answers about boot camp I had mailed it to him the first week with a stamped return envelope. 1 call on 10/27 and 1 on 11/2. Hope you get a letter and call soon.
