Welcome to the Division Discussion for Divisions 023 and 024
These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.
Get to know each other, your SRs are!
Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.
Every single question that is asked is important Every single concern is genuine Every single member is important to us We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.
Hang in there!!!

Thank you Bookster :) words were hard to find.... I think he was more upset to disappoint us than to not meet this goal for himself. I was still on the phone with him when my husband started frantically writing a letter to get it in the box on time to let him know how proud he is of him.
DeborahRC, Thank you....I was glad I was able to say something, mostly I wanted to hug him and not let him go. He did say he was moved to Fit Div. I told him this run was difficult for a lot of people. His brother ran cross country in High School and was challenged by the run at boot.
He will be going on to Pensacola (like his brother) as AM (....like his brother). While my oldest tries to play it off, he misses his little brother and was worried when we didn't hear from him. He drove to recruiters and called RTC. Shortly after, I had got the call. Ah, brothers.
HoneyBeeQueen, Thank you so much for the hugs and blessings :) This is the Navy family I grew up (Chief's daughter) :) I believe that God will surround my son with the right people at the right time to bring him through.........just as He has for me here on our little group.
I am so sorry, 2ndTimeAround....but love your encouraging words and wisdom! And faith! I so agree....there is a different plan for your son, that is partly obscured right now. I know that your encouragement and faith means the world to your son. He'll get there!
Hmmmmm.....I had thought that the next PIR group (12/05) would start their BattleStations on Tues night, since they cannot go on Wed or Thurs night, I don't believe, because of Thanksgiving. I was so hoping that was the case since if your son passes on Monday, he could have done BattleStations on Tues night and would have been at PIR, tired but there. Right now, it doesn't look like there are BattleStations on Monday night for this PIR group. Or else he could have gone then.
Well, we can pray for a miracle.....that he passes his run AND that there is a chance for him to be able to do BattleStations and be at PIR. Even though the RDC said what he did!
Thank you diannep. I had wondered that very thing; that maybe he could still be at PIR. It would make sense to me that RDC's would rather error on the side of caution and say they won't be graduating rather than take the chance of having a room full of unhappy moms...even, one I imagine could make an RDC feel small :)
Yes please, as I do believe in miracles in all shapes and sizes. While I will not at this point plan to be in Great Lakes. I'll be in route to Pensacola in a flash! :)
Thank you moms of 023/024!!! You've built me back up as only the Navy family can (maybe especially the moms). I have this little delay but, am very happy for all of our divisions new sailors and families! :) And, I will be thinking of you and wishing the safest of travels :)
A touch of levity from my oldest son, "So, this may not be the right time to ask this but.....is Thanksgiving back on?" lol Yes. I had every intention of abandoning my husband and son! but, will now have to go shopping.
LOL at your oldest son, great way to get you back on the saddle!
2ndTimeIAround: I have been reading the posts all day, but just now got to my computer. Please tell him how many of us are routing for him (and sending your family good thoughts!) I'm sure he is disappointed...but remind him of what an AWESOME story he'll be able to tell, once he kicks butt on his PFA!! As many of the other ladies have said - he is ALREADY a hero to us!! In my mind, they are all my kids, and you are all sisters, because this something that will change all of our lives, and we did it together!! We don't always see where the path is leading us, but he does have a journey he's meant to be on...it's just taken a few unexpected turns :) Hang in there doll, and keep us in the loop! I expect to be talking to you all for many years to come!
I will tell him MommaJ; thank you. I would love to meet all of you PIR and after these past 2 days, would love to buy you all a glass of wine! I'm hoping in the next couple days I will have good news to share. :)
So sorry to hear what has happened- but I am sure there is a reason and will be a silver lining. Heck, a trip to Florida instead of Great Lakes this time of year would be a blessing! :) Hugs to you and your boy- I know he will make it through!
