For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Our November and December Sailors!!
We have a very special mission that we are going to ask all of our NavyforMoms.com members to support for the holidays.
Although the Adopt A Sailor program is only a few months old, as a group we have supported troops in Kuwait, Afganistan and Iraq. With the upcoming holiday season, we wanted to continue to support our sailors that we know won't be home with their families this year.
This group has grown so tremendous with almost 200 members and we had a goal in mind that would take alot of support. After much research and some emails inbetween, Molly and I are pleased to announce that our Sailor of the Month program for November and December will be...
The USS RODNEY M. DAVIS
This frigate will be home to about 250 sailors for the holidays.
Working thru their chain of command, we have received approval to support these sailors. This is an amazing opportunity and honor for us to be allowed to adopt this ship. This will be a big undertaking for our group but we know that Navy for Mom members know how to show the love!
Deployed ships often have limited mail deliveries so we have committed to having our mail delivered December 1 - December 8th. This will allow them to contain all of cards and holiday wishes together and deliver them to the crew before the holiday.
Our hope is for EVERY Sailor on that ship to receive a holiday card signed by Navy for Mom. We would like to include a $10 international phone card in the card so those Sailors may have an opportunity to call their loved ones. If you are not in a position to send a phone card, please do not let that stop you. Just write on the back of the envelope - no phone card included so as cards are distributed, some sailors don't get multiple phone cards and some get none.
So many of you have really stepped up the last few months and are spending $20 or more just shipping packages to our Adopt A Sailor receiptants. This will be an easier mission - no packages to send, no lines to stand in at the post office...just your holiday wishes with a regular postage stamp!!!
If you are a school teacher, Sunday School leader, Boy Scout or Girl Scout troop leader or part of any organization that would like to spread some holiday cheer to this group of Sailors, we would love to load them up with many holiday messages of support and cheer. Please think about using this a project for your group.

AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My daughter's elementary school is going to help out on this one. IEvery teacher is going to have their class make Xmas cards for the Sailors. They won't have phone cards in them, but everyone in my extended family is putting one in theirs. There is a total of 287 students in the school.
My daughter's 4th grade class adopted a unit from the adopt a sailor website and sent care packages to them, there is a picture on my page. Also, my son's middle school homeroom class did the same thing for a unit from KS (where we live) and I sent those today. ( 5 boxes) -

If you cant fill cards with calling cards ~ any card will do !! OUR hope is to get 250 with calling cards, but I want to get them as many letters as possible also ! IF you do have calling cards PLEASE PLEASE write that on the back of the sealed card so that Command Master Chief knows !
I am buying boxes of cards this week and keeping them on my desk next to a empty box that says please write a letter to our sailors and put in the empty box !
YOU ARE THE GREATEST BUNCH OF WOMEN I have ever had the pleasure of getting to know !!
This reminds you how wonderful the world can be !!!!!!!!
And for the picture of the children _ that is priceless ! I hope you sent that picture with the box of goodies :) Our fine military would love to see who sent them a box !! -

OK Miss Molly.....You need to sit down for this........
Every child in the grade school like I said before is sending cards. But......So is the entire Middle School. I spoke to the Counselor today and she is having each home room teacher have their students make christmas cards for the men/women on the USS Rodney M. Davis. There are 298 students in the school.....:)Yes, I did put a picture in the box. I will also post today the picture of my son's home room class with the boxes that they put together for the unit they adopted.......I know of about 45 people that I have emailed about the cards/phone cards that are mailing them or giving to me to mail...... -
