For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Please note! Changes to this guide happened in October 2017. Tickets are now issued for all guests, and all guests must have a ticket to enter base. A separate parking pass is no longer needed to drive on to base for parking.

Ship to GL 3/11/15
WOW!!! I can't believe this is really happening. My son ships out to GL Wed 3/11!!! He wasn't supposed to leave til May. Two weeks ago he got the call moving him up. I think I was cheated. These last 2 weeks have went by like 2 days. I will miss him terribly but the pride I have in him and respect for all these recruits will make it better!

Upon landing in Chicago on Tuesday (3/10), my son and I texted back back and forth till he left for GL. It was a great comfort.

Felt the numbness yesterday afterm dropping him off at the recruiter's office and watching that van drive away with my baby. Thankfully I've got some great "family" that kept me distracted at church. Now on our way to see him off in Montgomery. It was hard seeing his truck parked next to my car and his note on the dry erase board from yesterday this morning. Hubby even commented that his mom never said how she handled him going in, but since it was right after a fight they had she was probably mad, and scared because she lost a brother in Vietnam. Hardest part is she passed last year, so I don't have her to help with A leaving. I know she is with me, and super proud of him, but my heart feels....numb. No tears as of yet, but I'm sure they are not far away. Praying for lots of strength today, and in the coming weeks until I can see his sweet face again.

I'm sitting here at work hardly able to concentrate. I am thinking (hoping) the box and or form letter is at home waiting for me. B is in 800 division and from what I have read that means I could get those things fairly quickly. Anyone else out there had an SR leave 3/11 and received their things yet?

Read the info in 800 and 900 Divisions. If he is placed in an 800 division then you will get "the box" and The Form Letter close together. If there are not enough recruits for an 800 division, then your recruit will be placed in a regular division and you will get The Form Letter about 10 days after arrival. Be prepared for either situation and don't freak out if The Form Letter indicates that he is in a regular division. Please let me know either way.

I'm terrified that I'll miss mine as well. I'm a day behind y'all and will be out of the house tomorrow. Have to file taxes and go to daughter's softball game. I just want to see his chicken scratch that he calls writing.

You will be very surprised not "to see his chicken scratch that he calls writing." His handwriting from now on will be capital block letters and VERY legible, at least on "the box" and on the outside of his envelopes. Be sure to leave a signed and dated note on your door for the FedEx driver to leave the box. See Arrival and What Happens at the RTC.

B'sMom...received box in the mail today so hopefully you will be getting something soon! No form letter yet but I'm sure it's on the way. Daughter's boyfriend parked in front of the mailbox so no delivery. I will have to mandate "no parking in front of mailbox" rule immediately!

My husband FedEx because we forgot to leave a note before we left and they said they aren't even showing anything in their system for our address. My heart fell, but I know I will get is soon. Can't wait to see his handwriting and smell his nasty clothes.
