For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

I am sad he is going thru this, disappointed it happened, yet glad he is coming back! Don't know how to feel, and he keeps apologizing. How do I help him? Why does he have to stay for so long? Why can't he just come home now?

He must go through all of the steps in the Separation Process before being discharged, which takes 10 to 20 business days, not calendar days. Just encourage him when he calls. The address to write is in the FAQ document I left for you on your My Page if you don't have that.

Love him up. No, absolutely no criticism. Depression/Anxiety can be treated. Make a doctor appointment and follow through. You can do this. You can help him get through. It's not the end of the world, just a turn in the road.

I am sorry to hear that. Having never had an attack like that, I really have no idea how debilitating they can be. I am sure he is very disappointed and isn't even sure how it all happened. He probably feels like a failure and is letting everyone down. If he is willing just let him talk to you. Don't give him any "answers" or provide "fixes". Just let him talk it out with any emotions that come. Accept him without judgement, love him, encourage him. He probably doesn't know what to do next. Brain storm together about the possibilities. Even that might take some time. If possible let him get a job of some kind to keep him busy. Don't shame him or yourself. Be patient. Read the Book of John in the Bible. Get to know the love of Jesus and lay all this at His feet. He says, "Come to me all who are weary and heavy laden and I will give you rest." Prayers for you. My son arrived March 23. Have not heard from him yet!

Angie, I think what Crypto Dad was trying to do was remind you that it is important to consider everything before you make a post here. As RTC can connect information,so can those who wish us harm. And seriously your second post didn't help. I personally wouldn't want my now sailor standing next to someone who is prone to panic in a crisis. I want the one with ice flowing through their veins, who calmly takes charge and handles anything thrown at them. Consider deleting both posts, but don't feel bad. This is an ongoing learning experience for everyone
