For April, we are going to adopt the small groups from the website. They are numbered and the number will be the same for their address post in "MAS We Ship Love."  We will start shipping on April 25.

#1

Miguel - Navy - 10 males & 1 female - They have requested air fresheners, snacks, razors, shaving cream, games, and playing cards. Pillowcases are a go.

#2

Anthony - Navy - 5 males - They requested microwave food, snacks, and water bottles. Pillowcases are a go.

#3

Alexis - Navy - 1 female - This request was sent to me by Anthony because Alexis never gets any mail. Let's send her some "girlie" stuff and let her know she is appreciated.

#4

Michael - Marines - 6 males - They requested air fresheners, snacks, and toiletries. They also specifically requested pillowcases!

#5

Brandon - Navy - 10 males & 10 females - They requested sunflower seeds, air fresheners, beef jerky, hand sanitizer, candy, popcorn, and movies. Pillowcases are a go.

#6

Brianna - Navy - 40 males & 17 females - They requested microwave food, candy, chips, nuts, and snacks. Pillowcases are a go.

#7

Phylicia - Navy - 20 males & 10 females - They requested shampoo, conditioner, laundry pods, Clorox wipes, cookies, candy, coffee, ranch sunflower seeds, games, deodorant, body wash, and snacks. Pillowcases are a go.

#8

Kendell - Navy - 6 males - They requested snacks, beef jerky, and tuna. Pillowcases are a go.

Please choose a group and let's send them some love from home!

When you choose a group, please send me the number of the group and amount of boxes you are sending. I will keep a running tally and post it frequently.

Question ... In group #2, do they want bottles for water or bottles of water?

Bottles for water!

Interesting adoption this month.

Pat, does it make any sense for people to state now which group they are looking at sending to so that everybody doesn't plan to send to the same group and we can make sure all groups are covered?  And if pillowcases are requested, but the Mom doesn't sew, she can hook up with somebody who does sew?

Just a thought.....

valeriejean, Point well taken. I will go edit and keep a running tally and post that frequently. Thanks!

I got your 6 Pat!  Figuratively and literally!

The Confirmation classes at St. Francis de Sales in Lake Zurich are going to have another packing party on Saturday, April 18th.  We will cover group #6.

I'm sure that we will be able to cover another group as well.  Let me know where you need us to fill in.

How many are in group 8?

Thank you and St. Francis. Group #8 has 6 males. I will go edit that. Gosh, that is my first mistake! (today)

#3 - 1

#6 - St. Francis de Sales church will cover this group for care packages

Attached is a flyer I prepared to attach to my collection boxes in case anyone would like to use the format for their use.

While waiting for a call from my submariner who right now is in port in Japan, I have been raiding my Molly's closet. So far, 4 boxes packed.

Come on mommies, let's get some chatter going! New Mommies, Old Mommies........come out, come out, where ever you are!

I have the requested tuna ready to go from smile.amazon for group #8,   I get an error with #3's zip code from Amazon, so I'll send something regular post. Meanwhile ... my sailor is coming home for visit. Can't wait to see him! Slowly stocking the freezer and pantry with his favorites.Spoiled much??

HI ~~

Having a girl scout party on Monday and I am wondering if you want us to take the largest group?  I do have things the other groups requested though-so i guessed I'm confused if we should go with the groups that we have items they requested ??   AHHHH HELP ME (lol)

What I can say for sure is that we have 200 donated boxes of girl scout cookies this year here in portland oregon area. (YIPEEEEE)

OH ya and guess what ?? Not only do we have 2 girl scout troops from different areas at the packing party, but we have my sons recruiter ( female just retired) coming to the party to talk about the navy and women in the navy !!!  These two GS troops did not know each other before teaming via MAS to support our troops. Now they are co-hosting an event, but they are also both going to help in June with the retirement center fleet week party :)    (( I just think its so amazing that we not only get to show our troops they are loved, but that we actually get to teach the youngins how to be supportive and charitable))

4am here and I need to get to work ~ TGIF though :)

Molly, HOOYAH for the packing party!! Later today I will post an update on Groups 1-8. St. Francis church confirmation kids raised $1000 to purchase supplies for the care packages. Their PP will be on April 18 and they have pledged to support the large group. Then we will spread out the remaining boxes among the other groups.

Also please keep in mind May adoption and we will have 5 brand new kiddos (small groups) on the website.
