Good morning all!  It's been two weeks since my SR left.  I have his box and his form letter, so I am feeling pretty happy, which is a far cry from how I felt two weeks ago.  I am so thankful that I have had all of you to help get through the past few weeks.  So thank you, thank you, thank you!

Last week I was feeling pretty mopey and was worrying about the same things all of you are worrying about..Is he sleeping? eating? Is he warn out? Is he cold?  All of this while sitting at my comfortable table, sipping coffee...That is when I came up with an idea.  I decided to get off my rear and spend this "bootcamp" time doing my own bootcamp.

It has been only a week, but I can honestly say that it has been nice to have something to center some of that "feel sorry for myself" energy on.  Which leads me to...........

I HAVE A CHALLENGE FOR YOU...THE BOOTCAMP MOM CHALLENGE.

So if you are interested this is my thought.  Find something that is tough for you whether it be something mentally or physically challenging.  It doesn't matter what it is...maybe working out, changing eating habits, cleaning the garage, less smoking, drinking more water.  Find something that you can throw yourself into for the weeks ahead while you are waiting for PIR.  You are welcome to share it, or keep it to yourself.

Here are the Pro's...It keeps your mind occupied, you are challenging yourself, you have something to write about to your SR, you have something you can share with your SR when you see him/her.

Now for the CONS....Ummmm, I can't think of any.

So think about it...How about you come and join me on this journey...

BTW...My challenge is to drink a gallon of water a day, and I have a Cardio, weightlifting plan that is mapped all the way out until I leave for PIR.

Good Luck!

MamaBear...Maybe we need to assign ourselves our own bathrooms until our bodies get used to all of this water....At least with your running to the bathroom you are getting extra cardio in. ;-)

Husband and 11 yr old daughter ran with me yesterday, a beautiful afternoon.  Hope to repeat everyday for the next 34 days, if we can fit in our run between rain.

That is awesome trailhiker!  The rain definitely makes it more difficult to get out there.  At least if you get caught in the rain, you have your fun running partners with you.

Absolutely, more fun with company.  A little rain won't melt us.  How is the less bread/sugar going?

I've been surprised, less sugar has been much easier than the bread thing. Gosh, it's crazy when I realize how much bread we were eating. I feel really pleased overall, though.  Amy, the salad in a jar you recommended are working fabulously! I love the whole concept.

My husbands contribution to the journey has been to have nuts available at home & work to stop the snack food.  I've been doing that, and when I get munchy, it only takes a few to satisfy me. No sugar snacking!!!  Hooray!

I wish I could say I was killing it on the exercise, but I'm slowly building up steam, so that is better than before.

Have you heard from your SR trailhiker?

Aimee, how is your week going?  I think it is awesome that your husband is on board.  What a great support you have.  You just keep building up that steam...Let us know what you are up to.

Amy3Boys:  Thanks for checking in with me.  Up until Wednesday I was doing my morning/evening routine.  But then I had to finish my baking for Easter.  And what is it that I bake?  BREAD!!!!!!!  And lots of it !!!!!!  Today I'm going brave the cold and wind and help my husband with the outside spring clean up.  That's a workout in itself; get thru Easter, and then back in the saddle on Monday morning.  What's the graduation date for your sailor?  I want to mark it on my calendar as a motivator.  I need a visual.  My corpsman won't be stateside until August/September, so I need a closer finish line.  Happy Easter everyone!!!!

48 days till 5/22 PIR! I'm super dorky and have a countdown app on my phone (it's called Dreamdays). I look at it several times a day. But also because I have a picture of us as the event background :)

Froggy, don't beat yourself up about the bread...it was yucky out and you were without your SR on Easter.  My SR's graduation date is 5/15..That seems forever away but in challenge world I kind of panic because I want to see some results...Let us know how you are doing this week.

Hi Ladies,  How is your Saturday going?  I have been busy around the house and drinking my water.  I am really really ready for my body to get used to all this water...These bathroom trips are slowing me down..LOL!

Not sure if you guys are interested but I thought I would share a little recipe gem that I have found.  Have you guys heard of a Spiralizer?  It is my new favorite thing.  My favorite Vegetable to use is Zucchini..I finally asked my husband if he could tell that we were eating zucchini or pasta..He said he could not...SCORRRRRREEEE!  So this is the run down...2 cups of spaghetti noodles has 440 calories.  2 cups of zucchini noodles has 38 calories.....All I can say is wow.  I am attaching a link to a recipe.  There are a million recipes out there...If you have any questions just let me know.

Keep us with your challenge.  Just remember we are in this together...We are pretty awesome like that.  You guys make my day every day..thanks for taking this journey with me as we wait to hear from our SR's.
