For April, we are going to adopt the small groups from the website. They are numbered and the number will be the same for their address post in "MAS We Ship Love."  We will start shipping on April 25.

#1

Miguel - Navy - 10 males & 1 female - They have requested air fresheners, snacks, razors, shaving cream, games, and playing cards. Pillowcases are a go.

#2

Anthony - Navy - 5 males - They requested microwave food, snacks, and water bottles. Pillowcases are a go.

#3

Alexis - Navy - 1 female - This request was sent to me by Anthony because Alexis never gets any mail. Let's send her some "girlie" stuff and let her know she is appreciated.

#4

Michael - Marines - 6 males - They requested air fresheners, snacks, and toiletries. They also specifically requested pillowcases!

#5

Brandon - Navy - 10 males & 10 females - They requested sunflower seeds, air fresheners, beef jerky, hand sanitizer, candy, popcorn, and movies. Pillowcases are a go.

#6

Brianna - Navy - 40 males & 17 females - They requested microwave food, candy, chips, nuts, and snacks. Pillowcases are a go.

#7

Ok so group #6 is taken care of by St Francis?

I was going to let the girl scouts choose which group they want to send to :)

I will keep an eye on the updates ~

And I counted today and I have 33 pillowcases ---the retirement center is sewing more as we speak.   HOOYAH

I will do at least one box for a group. Pat L. in IL, what do we know about how the adoptions are going?

Hi Pat!

And hi there Miss Molly!  Love those girl scouts and their cookies!  When I was a girl scout we only had four types of cookies and they were .50 cents per box!  Back in the dark ages!

Our care packages are so tightly packed and jammed full of goodies that I estimate being able to put a smile on the faces of three sailors per box.  If we stick to peanut packs and protein bars instead of bulky microwave mac and cheese containers then we can easily help out four sailors per box.

We are shopping at Costco on Wednesday night.  Let me know which groups still need to be covered, after the Girl Scouts make their choice, and we will cover them.  I will make sure we purchase the specialty items they requested.  We have a plan in place to pack for multiple groups so no worries there!

((Hugs)) to my sisters!

Pat, I will do group #4. I will send at least one box for each Marine and then extra snacks. I'll give you a total when I ship.

Also if anyone needs pillowcases, please let me know and I will see about getting them rounded up.

Thank you!

Pat,

I will call you tomorrow early afternoon.  Cathy and I will meet up at 5pm to go shopping.  Let me know which additional groups you would like us to cover.

I love doing this!

UPDATE! Molly's Girl Scouts packed 31 boxes and I don't have the breakdown yet of where they are going. On Sat. St. Francis de Sales church is having a big packing party. But so far:

#1 - 3

#2 - 5 & 5 pillowcases

#3 - 4

#4 - 6

#5 -

#6 - St. Francis will cover this group

#7 -

#8 - 4

The St. Francis group will cover #5 and #7 as well.

Just to clarify, the Molly's Adopt a Sailor Facebook page posted that group #5 was already covered but this page lists it as open.  We bought enough beef jerky, candy and snacks to cover group #5.

If it's not needed we will save it for next month.  If you need it then we will pack it all up Saturday.

Too much stuff is never a bad problem to have!

I will have an updated list with me on Sat. so we can assign the boxes a group!

Hi Pat,

Let me know what you have left or need. Here's what we have:

We have lots of beef jerkey and snacks, candy, flushable wipes, toothbrushes, toothpaste, DVD's, games, notepads, pens, and pillow cases.

Take care!

Darlene

Darlene, There is a big packing party on Sat. so I will know better then. Will send you a message after we get the box count on Sat. Thanks!!

OK ladies so the girl scouts are dividing the boxes between groups 1,3,and 4

But they also have a in line for dvds for group 5.

Whoop whoop moving right along
