Welcome to the Division Discussion for Divisions 181 and 182
These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.
Get to know each other, your SRs are!
Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.
Every single question that is asked is important
Every single concern is genuine
Every single member is important to us
We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.
Hang in there!!!

Thanks Teri, I actually watched this before he left but got teary eyed at 7:20 this time through. :)
That capping ceremony must be very emotional for the Recruits/Sailors. It certainly was for me. We have 2 more weeks before we leave for Chicago!!!! All will be ready!!!
Getting excited here too! I just wrote our son a letter, likely his last as I understand the mail needs to stop earlier than actual graduation. Asked him for his list of what he wants for "A" school and gave him a few ideas from what I have read here. He is staying in GL so we can bring his items with us. Two weeks from today we head to the Great Lakes!
Check out the photos that Navy RTC posted on Facebook today - I saw my son! He's just in the mess hall, but hey - I didn't care. If your SR is in Div 181, you might want to take a peek! https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.10153185146204651.1073742...
Hey, TeriG, I think I saw my SR son, too! (Mess hall pictures!) He's div 181! Thanks for the heads up! :)
I am with you all.....I "think" I saw our son in the mess hall pictures. Sure looked like his hairline but did not get his entire face in the picture. Too funny how much they resemble each other!! Must tell you all I got my ribbon from Lori yesterday. She does beautiful work!! Thank you, Lori, if you are reading this board.
I feel your thoughts.....we have very dear friends who ask about our SR all of the time....but it is not that they do not care, they just do not understand what this is like for us parents. It is not like taking your son/daughter to college, or going away for awhile....it is life changing for all of us. I also appreciate the support from all of you and the advice that you have shared from first-hand experience. I'm with you, Nahuh, how do we figure each other out? Lol By the way, my husband thanks you all too!
I wonder if we'll have name tags and we could put our usernames under our names?
Maybe we could just wear a name tag with our usernames and look for each other. Just a thought! I'd love to see you all!
So sad, we found half of the back of his head. Thank goodness for that white blonde hair, he sticks out in the group easily. haha
I received the ribbon I ordered with our last name on it...begins with a "D". l Also, order my husband a "golf type" shirt with a collar. It is white and has our division 181 on it. Maybe this will help to find each other at PIR! Lol By the way, the work of Lori is great!! Thank you, Lori if you are reading this site.
Got a 45 minute phone call last night from our recruit. Some of the recruits in our division were awarded phone calls based on test scores. He sounded great. Full of confidence and excited for today, the "Confidence Chamber" and firefighting. Our son is a very inquisitive kind of person....he is so curious about whose parents I have talked to. He did not know that we could not use real names on these sites and is perplexed. Lol Sure hope I can meet a couple of you at PIR. I bought a red shirt last night and navy blue plants and will have a ribbon with our division and our last name which begins with "D". My husband will have a white collared shirt with our division on it. Likely I will have tennis shoes on as I am recuperating from ankle surgery and recently out of a boot.....long slow healing process with loads of therapy. (Still not walking quite correctly but would not miss PIR for the world!) My daughter and mother in law are hoping to attend with us.
