Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

Will he leave for boot without his SS card
I need help. My husband and I got married a week ago today. Last Monday we went to go fill out my paperwork. He went to grab his SS card since he was going to have his one week meeting at the same time. He couldn't find it. So we ended up ordering a new one at the SS office. My future sailor has been waiting it out and hasn't told the recruiter. He has to report tomorrow so he can be taken down to MEPS. He ships out Tuesday for bootcamp. We don't have his card yet. The card was supposed to be here 5 to 7 business days which tomorrow will be 5. His mom was talking with other Navy moms on a discussion board, they said he can still go and I just ship it when I get it. Is this true? I am stressing out. We have been prepping for this departure for 2 months. I want him to go and pursue his dream, but at the same time I don't want to let him go. Any advice or information would be helpful. The worst part is knowing he feels completely awful about the whole situation.

At the social security office they can give you a form that is verification of your social until the new card comes in. He should probably call his recruiter and ask, but maybe that would be okay until you can mail his the new card?

He should have been able to go if he was able to get a new one issued to him. As long as he had a form that showed proof that he had one made, when his does arrive all you need to do is send it to him through mail. :) Lol my boyfriend actually lost his ss card and id two days before it happened :) first thing we did was talk to his recruiter and everything was able to sort itself out afterwards just fine :) Just recently joined the site so I stumbled upon your message just now. Hope he was able to go to bootcamp :)
