Hi, I have been doing my reading on this site and I don't know if I have seen any information regarding who is allowed to go to the airport to see our sailors off to A school.  I was wondering if anyone has experienced only family members being allowed to go. Can girlfriends go? Do they have a maximum amount of people that they allow?

Any information regarding this would be helpful.

Thanks

Anyone can go...once they check in , they are free to roam around the airport ! My family had lunch at the airport with my son and then we waited for a few hours until his plan arrived.

Thank you for the information.  This helps!!

My ex-husband's girlfriend and her friend were allowed to go to the terminal. All you have to do is have your Sailor vouch for them and they have to have picture ID.  That's how it was in March of 2012. Hope this helps! We spent 12 hours in the terminal with our Sailor. It was WONDERFUL to have that much time before he headed off to A school.

Thank you this does help.

YES GIRLFRIENDS CAN GO AS WELL, I WAS A GIRLFRIEND DURING PIR....NOT SURE ON IF THERE IS ANY LIMIT ON PEPLE

Thank you

Anyone can go to the airport as stated from the prior replies, my only addition was that when my son got us the gate passes, we all had to be there with him and the ticketing agent was able to give each of us a gate pass so that we can wait with him before he boarded the plane. There are alot of sailors as well as other passengers so I'd highly recommend to get it done as soon as he is able to. The lines were long as well as the wait, but it was great to get the passes out of the way.

Thank you for the information it has helped me better understand what I need to do.
