Welcome to the Division Discussion for Divisions 181 and 182

These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important

Every single concern is genuine

Every single member is important to us

We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

Hope all of our Sailors study hard!  The hard part is yet to come.  Our son mentioned many get "weeded out" at this point into different avenues than what they had planned initially....not sure if he is accurate.

OK ladies, I do believe my son has dropped off the face of the earth! Nothing since a phone call on Sunday - no replies to texts or anything. Do you think he's really that busy (his classes don't start for another week or so) or should I just face the realization that he's an adult on his own now?  (In truth, he was never one to text us much, and not a big facebook user either.) Hmmmm. Momma no likey.

Do you pay his cell phone bill?  There's an app that will allow you to lock his phone down until he calls you.  LOL

LOL  Did not know of this one!

No, he pays his own expenses ever since he graduated from high school. I'm not worried about him, I'm just interested in what he's doing. He is almost 21, responsible enough, and well within his rights not to keep us informed every minute of the day, but that doesn't stop me from wondering what he's up to! Interesting app, by the way. It would have come in handy once or twice LOL.

I was shocked last night, my son added me on instagram.  One of the first pictures was that "first day of school" picture I asked for. :)

I hope your's gets settled and starts keeping in touch more, Teri.

It is funny how they will take turns texting parents.  Our son has been texting Dad, but called and talked to me for about 20 minutes last evening.  They are "spreading their wings" and becoming young adults as you mentioned, though.

Nahuh, was your son living with you prior to Boot Camp?  Just curious...  the last 3-4 weeks before our son left for Boot Camp, he was kind of "pulling away" from us.  He lived at home and worked but maybe he was trying to "get ready" to be on his own. Our son is at "A" school at Great Lakes.  From what he mentioned last evening, sounds like they are on a hold for a week or so.  Not too sure what that means other than not starting but performing duties, watch, etc.  What type of school is your son starting June 4?  What part of CA?
