PIR 07/24/2015 TG 37 is another group you might want to join if you haven't already.
Join PIR 07/24/2015 TG 37,
My son's father and I are divorced so his father received the call not I but I'm sure it was because he knew I would ask him questions and be emotional, lol. There is no such thing as a short phone call to me Lol.
I sent him a letter asap too. His birthday is tomorrow so I sent a card too.
My son will stay at GL for school for AECF. how about your son?
I thought i saw that there was a group for "nuke moms" lol
Wow! That's awesome!
I found the website a week before he left and I am so thankful I did. I'd be a mess and lost without it.
Since your recruit will be in the Nuclear Field, you will want to join NUKE moms and you may also want to check out Nuke School Charleston and Nuke A School FAQ.
The Rating Information Card for NF can be found at https://www.cool.navy.mil/usn/enlisted/rating_info_cards/nukepower.pdf. (If you get the security warning, it is safe to go there.)
Your Sailor will most likely fly out to "A" School the day after PIR. See PIR Day and Liberty During PIR Weekend to help you know how to plan your weekend.
Your Sailor may have Prototype in Ballston Spa, NY; if so, join Moms/Dads/Families with Nukes in Ballston Spa, NY at that time. Some stay in Charleston.
You are very welcome.
jennifer12470, I left the info on AECF on your My Page.
My son is this div as well. His birthday is Wed. I had a son in Marine boot and we couldn't send anything but letters. I'm wondering how strict this boot is.
You can send cards; be careful about advertizing his birthday, though. Letter Writing & Fun Stuff/Questionnaires to send to your Recruit will let you know what you can and cannot send.
Also if you go on fb U.S. Navy Recruit Training Command they posted pic of our boys yesterday coming out of the tunnel. Its awesome!
