Did anyone from this group receive phone calls from their SR other than the "I'm here" scripted call?

I am so anxious as I am sure we all are...

After the "I'm here" call, we got another one about 10 days after he got there. It was on a Saturday morning. And then we got another one yesterday, which is two weeks later. The first call was about 20 minutes and yesterday's call was about 45 minutes! He's almost half way though now.

My understanding is that getting phone calls depends on a lot of things. So some will get to call more often than others. I don't know how long your SR has been at BC but our first call was not terribly upbeat. He was sick and seemed a little overwhelmed. Yesterday was a whole different story. He's sick, again, and it's still tough, but feeling much better about things.

I am Ship 13 Div 245 graduation date 7/24/15 and he arrived @ RTC May 26, 2015.  When did your SR arrive @ RTC?

My son is Ship 12 Div 232 (same as Navymom9828 above). He got to the RTC around midnight on 5/13. Graduation date is 7/10.

Just got a second letter today and son said he did not have any opportunity to make a call yet. The letter was written Thursday. He graduates 7/17.
My son arrived at BC 5/20, graduates 7/17, ship 3, div 241. Had our first phone call Saturday, no letters yet. I hope the waiting will go faster!
My son got there Wednesday may 27. I got the I'm here call that night and then a call that Sunday morning, may 31 around 8:30 am. Did not get a call this weekend though. Sad even though I know not to expect a bunch of calls. Got my hopes up too much.

jaysmom I saw that you got a call the weekend they arrived.  Very HAPPY for you!!!

What ship and division is he?

Ship 02 Div 937. He plays the trumpet

My son left on the 20th, and I have gotten two calls, three if you count the "Im here" call.  Still haven't gotten any mail, I am looking forward to that, and looking forward to him getting his!

My SR called 3 weeks ago crying to me wanting out. It broke my heart, there is nothing that I can do and he made this decision on his own. The letter he sent me recently said the same thing.  I am so stressed about what he's doing, have not heard from him since.  I wish I could get some more information.  I did send him a letter this morning telling him it was a bad idea for him to try to leave because I know this is what he needs.  The waiting game is very painful.

That's horrible. Did he say why he hates it so much? I thought if you were that stressed they would send you home. How long has he been there ?

Unfortunately it was absolutely everything that was happening he was having a hard time with. I know they all are adjusting.  I just can't get it out of my mind.  I hope for his sake he is adjusting.  He went in May 12th and he's still there as far as I know.  It's been so difficult.  He is 20 years old and was living on his own working 2 jobs, I can't imaging wanting to go back to that.
