1405...Proto...BS.. Marym&m.... I haven't been here for a few weeks... Thought I'd check in....
Well...my sailor/son... Did it....he graduated Nuke school on May 29th...I wasn't able to go because I was on a cruise...I left the same day.... Which I was sad about.... Thankfully my two daughters went and took and sent me lots of pictures and a video of his name being called and him getting his certificate...pretty much the whole ceremony... So while I couldn't be there... I'm grateful my daughters kept my in the loop...afterwards I facetimed with them... I was on the cruise ship and they were in BS....so now he will go to San Diego.... He will be on the Carl Vinson...he needs to be there by July 13th... But HE IS HOME until then...I'm so happy... He is here with us...I am so proud of him... He is amazing...I just got home... I will see him for the first time since graduation....today...woohooo.....Congratulations to all of our graduates and their families...and..... To all of you for the continued support....have a wonderful day!!!!!

Hi, my son will graduate on June 26. He will also be going to the Carl Vinson, his report date is August 10th. I am very happy for you, enjoy your time together. My son will be home next weekend for his 4day. Looking forward to seeing him.

Congratulations from a fellow Nuke Mom!!

Congrats to your son!!!!  My son is also a nuke stationed in pearl harbor.   Now another adventure starts.  Good luck to him!!!

Marym&m, my son is on the Vinson. They just returned from a marathon deployment of 9.5 months so they will be in for a while, only going for short underways now and then. Good timing for your sailor!

Congratulations on his completion. We all know it doesn't mean coasting along now. He will need to get qualified for the type of reactor they have on the Vinson. My son said the nuke department there is a good one so your sailor will do fine. Now on to the next adventure!

I must have seen your son coming into San Diego Bay last week.  It was quite a sight.

BZ to you son Mary!  Enjoy your visit with him ;-)

My son is in VA on the USS Truman - he's been on a couple of underways so far (and more to come!) as they prepare for deployment.  Like NancyJo said - it's constant learning & qualifying!

It is a very exciting time.  Unfortunately I am on the opposite coast but I will make the trip over at some point.  My son is worried that if the ship is in for maintenance from Aug. to Feb. then he won't be able to get any sign offs for 6 months and never get qualified.

Congratulations!  I saw the Carl Vinson coming back home last Thursday when I was on a  field trip with my daughter's 3rd grade class. (We live in San Diego).  All the kids and chaperons yelled out, "Welcome Home!" when our boat was close enough.  I wish your son the best!
