Kyle has spent an insane amount of time folding clothes (maybe this will give him a new appreciation for me? hmmmmm)

They spent 7, yes 7 hours the other day changing back and forth from PT gear to a uniform. It had to be done in an alloted amount of time and every time someone messed up, the whole group had to get back into PT gear and start over.

They laugh at all the newly graduated sailors who come back from liberty and try bringing stuff back on base they did not leave with. Everyone is searched head to toe, and everything gets confiscated. If they bring food back, it is eaten right in front of them while they beg to be able to keep it. Phones, etc. are taken while they cry and beg.

Bootcamp is a lot like prison, but prison is better because you can have a TV.

The food is good.

He never thought he would miss home this badly.

so there is no break between bootcamp and A school
So not everyone heads off to A school when they graduate? Will we know this or will he know this @ the time of graduation?
Hi Kim,
Our family is a Navy Family and it suprised me how my daughter used the Navy lengo... of course I knew some but the ones I didnt know I had to ask my hubby to translate..

I had a good chuckle on your comment about bootcamp/prison and TV..
my daughter had written about how the first few days they didnt get much sleep but now they get atleast 8 hrs...so she was good to go..and to think when she was home, 8 hrs was not enough.
The navy lingo amazes me, When I talk to him on the phone, and in his letters.
My favorite lingo mess up was in a letter he sent, he stated he had a collar device. I thought this must have been a bad thing, sure the heck sounds bad.
But it is a Petty officer thing :)
Tomarrow is Sunday and I am hoping to get a call ( fingers crossed for all of us to get a call )
im still waiting on the first letter!!!
When did your son leave?? When my daughter was in we got one call, and I think 7 letters well, paragraphs in different envelopes. My son is in bootcamp now graduates in 2 weeks and we have had 1 call. He called twice we were not home the first time, in his message on our machine it sounded like he was going to cry because we were not home. IT BROKE MY HEART. But he did get another chance a few weeks later. The first thing he said is THANK GOD YOU ANSWERED the phone I really wanted to talk to you. We have only gotten 3 letters so far and he has been gone over 5 weeks. Don't worry your son will write, they don't get much time, they are always busy and when they are not they are exhusted. Send him letters every day it really helps.
when i finally got my letters it was 5 in 2 envelopes
he said he had not been able to sleep and if he was tired he snuck and wrote me under his pillow so he said he would write more but i sent him alot of letters looks like a novel so hopefully he likes that
and its upsetting if u miss a call that u have been waitin on
because i try to keep my phone on me at all times even at work
i pray i get the call soon just to hear his voice
he is doing good
but he doesnt like it and he wishes he was home but he knows that it is somethin that he has to do
i jus continue to send him letters everyday or at least every other day
hoping he gets them all
how are u tammy
I had to have it translated also, mine had the collar device for 4 weeks and then the second time he was sick lost it. Also did not and still do not know what a 2-2 day is or a 3-2 day. The letter was positive so I assume it is good

Pat
Patricia,
What job does your son have as a petty officer ?
Mine got it in the 1st week, and is on week 6 now.
Mine is in charge of the laundry room.
LOL my son doing laundry LOL
Anyway I hope he can find it or they give him another one, I think that would be a cool thing to have for memories.
Has he gotten any ribbons yet ?
3-2 from what I understand is 3 weeks 2 days they have been in so far.
I don't know what he was doing. He mentioned having a group of people that did not know how to fold
clothes. He is not doing it anymore since the last time he got sick. I think he only did it for 4 or 5 weeks. If mine was doing laundry I hope everything is one color. When are you graduating? We are scheduled for 3/21. DIV 114 Ship 14
well bootcamp for me wasnt that bad... just depends in your RDCs mine were really cool with us cause we did things right at the begining we used to get IT( exercise as a punishment) because we couldnt work together as a group and does what it takes to have a good bootcamp work together as one whole group called division at the end my division was like a family and my RDC like a dad and mother to us i still talking to some of the guys that went to bootcamp with me and share our stories and laugh about our bootcamp memories i will never forget my bootcamp memories those were the best memories i have. i didnt care about the food or the bed or watching tv when you have great people around you that you can talk and share those things that make you sad while i was in bootcamp i didnt got any any letters from my dad that make me strong and try to prove him that i can do thing and that im better than him...i wrote him telling him all this things and he came to my graduation but nothing is the same i chenge my whole life in only 8 months and ill will be better than all the people that said you cant make it ...!!
