I had to say goodbye to my son yesterday! It was the hardest thing I've ever done. I am so sad that after graduation we only get to see him for that day before he leaves for Pensacola! Coming home to his bedroom with everything here feels so much like death! I can't stop crying!! This is sooo hard!!! How do we get through this?

It looked like they were rushed to throw their things in the box didn't it?! I loved seeing his handwriting on the box. I haven't washed the clothes from the box yet...even though they are smelly:) that will be the last of his laundry until probably Christmas :( hang in there...if our sons can get through what they are going through we can too! :)
Loved the phone in the stinky shoe! My goodness did that box smell. I got his PIR date 8/21 and he is ship 04 div 282 I think. Ah my brain. Not sending anything til I get the letter though! Yes if they can do this we can make it too!!!
Week 1 almost over! I think I'm going to start writing today. I'm kind of bummed because I have tickets to a baseball game tonight (watching sports together is one of our favorite things to do) and it is supposed to rain all day. There's a giveaway tonight at the game he wanted so badly and I think it will rain out :( . I'm so anxious for the letter with all his info, the recruiter said to call next week and they will give it to me but to wait for the letter before I send mail! Poor kid may have a novel to read by then! Happy Saturday! One day closer! :) Have a great day!
My son also left on the 23rd. Doing his laundry was tough, knowing he wouldn't be wearing the clothes again for a very long time. Trying to stay super busy. Reading all the mom's comments helps so much.
My son arrived on the 23rd. We got his box today but nothing but his clothes were in it. I thought we would get his address etc?
No...that should come a few days later hopefully. Still waiting for my official letter with his address and PIR date!
