My oldest son just left Monday morning and shipped July 7th. My husband, son and I were all holding back tears, but all excited at the same time. We recived the short phone call around 10pm he arrived safely. He sounded happy! We told him, he would do great and we were very proud of him.
I'm looking forward to receiving his ship number and all his information in the mail.

When we received the package today it came FedEx ground special delivery.

Yes, Tina this not an easy process. It's all wondering and waiting form a word. I Believe we should be receiving our letters with our kids information hopefully sometime next week. There are many links on here if you search around a little bit that'll tell you step-by-step frist the week of processing. I think the beginning of this week they officially started Bootcamp. Rember it hard but, no news is good news.
Yeah got ours also. Will feel even better with an address!

DITTO!  Never thought I would be so excited to get an address! lol

Does anyone here know what Division or ship number their SR is in yet?  The "box" arrived yesterday and his recruiter said to email him today for the rest of the info, but he is not replying.  The recruiter is also the one who said he can have his cell phone at boot camp (which came in the box yesterday) so I'm not sure how reliable his is anyway.

Hello Stephanie, the box is the first step. I about a week os or so, we should be getting the first letter from our kid with Ship# and Division. Week one they are going through P-week processing. Over this last weekend, I believe it's the beginning the official week they start of BootcamP. I'm figuring I'll see my first letter may be a week from today or so, if not sooner. I hope this helps. Also check your main page when you joined and look on all the links "The Survival guide for newbies" several links with step-by-step process all the way to the end of Boot Camp you can find some information on Facebook as well.

Thank you! I have read up on a lot, but I didn't want to ignore the fact that his recruiter said to be sure to email him one week from ship date, which is today.  It's hard to wait for the form letter but that really seems to be all we can do at this point!

Just got the box too! Included were the stamps that he brought though (late night for him I know). Does anyone know if he can get some there or should I just send some with my first letter?

Good question!  I was wondering the same thing.

Sending stamps would be a big help less for them to worrie about. Otherwise they will have to buy them at the exchange.

We got our form letter yesterday.  He is in Div. 291.  Anyone else on here have a recruit in that division?

When did your son/daughter get there?
