We dropped Gabe off at his recruiters office at noon today, we will be going to his hotel to have dinner with him tonight. I have been so busy and on purpose staying distracted, but now as I sit at home waiting to go have dinner with him, my heart is shattering into pieces. I know that it will bet better but I have to wonder if I will make it thru this heart break. Its just awful. Nothing is making me feel better, being outside, inside, getting hugs, nothing. I keep trying to drag myself into a reasonable reality but I just cant get there. I'm praying I can get it together before tonight. And now his recruiter tells us that we should go to his swearing in tomorrow, we are of course going, but it's going to be so much harder to walk away from him and leave him there at Meps. I'm just a hot mess....................... if you only knew , I am not a weepy woman normally.

It is somehow comforting to know that all of us Moms are feeling the same way. Literally physical pain in my chest and throat........ we will get through this together. I am very grateful for this site knowing that I have a sisterhood of Moms with amazing kids doing amazing things for us. I'm better today, just talked to Trev - waiting for his flight to BC. He sounds great!!!! So I feel better today. Yesterday was so awful, and same here, I am a corporate tough cookie, but I have turned into a CUPCAKE!!!! It's all good. It's our kids, and there is nothing more important than them on this Earth!!!! God's Grace to fill our empty hearts!!!!
I'm a stay at home mom, so I'm glad to hear I'm just not being a wuss! I just never dreamed that it would be this hard. How are you doing today?
We heard from Gabe last night, he said he had 2 min, I was thrilled, I thought he would just say he was there and hang up. WE didn't chat a lot but it was such a comfort to hear his voice. So now I guess we wait for their box of things, which I was pre warned that it's just their things, no note or anything. Then we will get a letter that tells us his information. I was also warned to not use the address that the recruiter will give you, that many times it's wrong.
I seem to be a bit better, it's only 8:30am thou, lol. This grief in my chest isn't letting up, but as long as I stay busy it's better. I really dread being by myself, which is most of the day time, my 13 year old daughter wants to be with her friends, and leaves for camp on Friday. My husband is taking me away for the weekend, then he leaves on a 3 week business trip! I plan to just stay on the run and try to keep from being home. For me being home is the worst! But I will say I went to the farmers market yesterday and walked around like a zombie there also! LOL I'm a hot mess!
Bobbi, Arrival and What Happens at the RTC within Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones) will let you know what is happening and what to expect.

Thank you so much for your time and all of the wonderful information lemonelephant. There are no words to express it properly.
You are very welcome. I am glad to help.
Just love her.
This will pass. Ask her how she wants to handle the "See you in a couple of months at PIR?" (so much better than goodbye) and then see if you can come to a compromise. Have you discussed the things in Things to Do in the Last Month before Your Future Sailor Leaves for... with her?
(((((Loren's Mom))))) that's a cyber hug from one Navy Mom to another.
You are very welcome.
