piglet where did you find that list of their daily activities. I don't know all the abbreviations yet because our daughter didn't share anything with us (mines the one that isn't speaking to us) so I don't know p-day means or where to find anything. I'm sorry.

Kelly, the link for the Day by Day and more (including info on P-days and DOT) can be found in Arrival and What Happens at the RTC (clickable link). http://www.navydep.com/forums/showthread.php?t=433 (This has the Day by Day.)

The Page, What does ??? mean? (A Guide to Navy Abbreviations and Terminology), will help you with many of the new terms you will come across.

BTW, even recruits who were talking to their parents may not have shared info about BC because many don't know until they get to the RTC what to expect. I have put A LOT of info in the Pages (found under the pictures of the Members). Read one or two a day and go back to them as you need the info.

Thank you! So does everyone on this page here have a recruit in Great Lakes that just left August 11?

Everyone who is posting in this discussion except for me has a recruit who shipped on the 11th as your recruit did.

(Check your My Page.)

I don't know exactly now but see what lemonelephant posted she knows where everything is. I've just spent some time looking around the site.

Thank you for that. There is a lot of info and support on this site.

Every time I post the name of a Group, Page, or Discussion, it is a clickable link.

Hello Piglet!

Hope your day is going well! That's too funny! I'm just like you trying to read day to day and find as much info as I can. It helps me knowing what she could be doing today. I search for that 71 pages PDF you referred to with no luck. :( do you have the link? Could you message me it? I would really appreciate it.

Thanks Kerrie

PS

I already started writing my daughter too... I plan to write every single day to her. I know firsthand how it feels to be the only one with no mail. It only happened to me a few times in boot camp but boy it stunk. :)

Sparkiel

I know it's super hard not hearing from them but no news is good news
Hopefully they are all in their racks by now.

Best,
Kerrie

I'm going with no news is good news. And just think right now she is probably sleeping which is well earned I'm sure!

I have been thinking about my son all day. Mostly counting down the time until he would be able to get some sleep. I kept thinking about how tired he must be especially because he said he only slept about 2 hours the night before going to MEPS. I'm sure they are all enjoying their sleep now.

I went for a walk tonight and walked past my son's high school and the football team was practicing. Football was a huge part of my son's life for many years. Seeing the team and even smelling the sweat when a group of boys walked past me, made me miss my boy even more.

Hang in there 4Nev - I felt the same way today too.  That was why I went ahead and cleaned his room and finished his laundry.  I watched the clock and thought about what he might be doing to help me get through the day.

I am writing him a letter already, I started it this morning. I dated it and put day 1. It made me feel better like I was talking to him.  He almost always calls me about 3 times a day especially since he signed last September. So writing him is helping him.

Thinking of us all as we wait for our next contact with our recruits!

Big hugs!

4Nev & Piglet, are your children at boot camp now? In Great Lakes? Did the just get they aug 11? Trying to find moms that have kids in with mine.
