Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Please note! Changes to this guide happened in October 2017. Tickets are now issued for all guests, and all guests must have a ticket to enter base. A separate parking pass is no longer needed to drive on to base for parking.

We will all get through this together! They survived their first night and will soon have the hang of it! This is what they chose/ are meant to do and somehow we have to find a way to move on and be happy for them. I know they will be so much more mature when they are done and will seem so mch more confident. That is what I'm looking forward to.

Oh my gosh I'm so in agreement with you ladies. I haven't slept wondering, and worring about my daughter... he call was so cold short ,and brief to let me know she got there on Tuesday night...

My son flew out and arrived to boot camp on August 18. Missed his "I have arrived call". He sounded okay. The last 2-3days have been a roller coaster for me. I have had constant anxiety. I miss him so much and talking to him . I listen to the voice-mail he last left me. Now anxiously waiting to receive his formal letter. I am so grateful to have found this site, it has helped me get through the last couple days l.

Sorry that you missed the cal but at least you got to hear his voicel. Not much was said and it was very short. I'm hoping that after we get the box the time will go much faster because we can start writing and receiving letters. That will be the highlight of our day I'm sure :)

My son left with his recruiter on the 18th and arrived at Great Lakes on the 19th
I have been beside myself ever since. Counting down 8 weeks til I ser him again!

Yep. Me too! All we can do is stay busy and wait for the mail but take peace in knowing this is where they want to be and will be just fine. I keep repeating in my head....no news is good news :)

My son arrived at Great Lakes for boot camp on the 18th. Received his very short phone call at 11:11pm & have not heard anything since. I am racking my brain with questions unanswered. I miss him so much, can't even go in his bedroom. I think I'm making myself sick over it. I can't even text him, call him, hear his voice. Ahhhh!!! This is the hardest thing I have ever had to do my entire life! So glad to have other moms know exactly what I am going through. I am here for support if anyone needs to talk. Thank you all for your son/daughters service to our country.
