FOLLOW THESE STEPS TO GET STARTED:

Choose your Username.  For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either).  Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username.  While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Make sure to read our Community Guidelines and this Navy Operations Security (OPSEC) checklist - loose lips sink ships!

Join groups!  Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself!  Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility. 

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.  

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed.  Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.

**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

It has been 3 days since I last saw my son at the recruiter's office to send him on his way. 2 days of full basic for him,4 days of scrubbing, and cleaning the house (I'm a stress cleaner) and I'm still a ball of tears and nerves. My friends are getting tired of the daily tears and the Kevin this and Kevin that. Thank GOD, I found this site on the web. I want many of you ladies to know that in reading each of your posts I found women that I could relate too. Women feeling the same things as me and at the same time and it brought me comfort, thank you! I am a strong woman and have been thru much in my life but this is by far the hardest thing I have experienced when it comes to my son, we have been apart for a few days before (he went to Europe for 10 days in high school) but just knowing I could call him daily and hear his voice assuring me of his happiness and well being made the separation easier. Now I feel left out,and on edge, just waiting and waiting. (By the way I got my "I'm ok" phone call at 1:45 am Thursday morning. i was solely dedicated to my phone and without sleep all night to get it. I already have a first set of letters to mail him and im just waiting on the address (recruiter said Monday he would know because of the 3-4 days it takes to get then in the system. Thank you ladies for sharing your stories. See you in 8 weeks for graduation and God bless you all!

Thank you for sharing.

We take our son to the recruiters office tomorrow.  He has only been away for 10 days to Florida but you are right.....you get to talk to them.

I will be the same way.....waiting for that call...I am sooooo afraid I will somehow miss it.

I will not be sleeping waiting for the phone call too!!

Bless your Heart Farah! This site is a great support system, and feel free to add me as a friend, it almost even a week and I still find myself tearing up and crying also pestering the mail lady for my "boy in a box"! Lol keep your head up, and just know and keep reminding yourself you did a great job in raising your son. Congrats on your future sailor! :-)

Day 7 and I'm hanging in there, still missing my son like crazy! I think it gets better daily and I'm sure that once communication opens up ill be much better. Keep your head up. Navy moms are Strong moms, :-)
