Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Please note! Changes to this guide happened in October 2017. Tickets are now issued for all guests, and all guests must have a ticket to enter base. A separate parking pass is no longer needed to drive on to base for parking.

leaving for boot camp August 25, 2015
I am looking for anyone that has a child leaving for boot camp on Aug. 25.
I am starting to feel some anxiety. I think after cleaning his bedroom out it hit me harder than I thought it would. Seven more days and I am nervous for him. He seems to be fine....its me. lol

My Daughter left today Monday 8/24 . I have been reading how hard her first day is going to be. Looks like no sleep for her tonight

My son left today also, but is staying the night in a hotel near MEPS. He won't leave for Chicago until tomorrow. So I think tonight he gets to sleep ... which is good, because he was too nervous to sleep last night and was up leaving for the gym at 6 am today!

My son called at 1:00 am this morning. 20 second phone call. He sounded tired. Today has been hard.

Well......my son left today. I surprised myself and didn't cry until the van started driving away. I am now watching the clock and waiting for the call. I am now married to my phone. I start panicking if it is not in the same room with me in fear I may miss the call.
WOW....so many different emotions today. (waking up early didn't help)
Happy, sad, proud, excited............now I am exhausted and just want to stay in my bed until I get the call. I almost feel depressed. Not sure I feel like going to work tomorrow:( but I guess I better keep busy. Let the count down to graduation begin ladies!!!!!!
We are in this together.......we need each other.....non of my friends can relate to me.....Thank you to everyone on this site!!

I just got a call from my son saying he was almost to Great Lakes. It was great hearing his voice. I was so nervous answering the phone....I thought I was going to hear a bunch of yelling in the background....lol
Now just to wait for the scripted call.....I wonder how long before I get that?
Has anyone else gotten a call?

it was very short 20 seconds.

Our son just landed at O'Hare. He said they are expected to be picked up between 8-9 so I believe the scripted call will come in around 2am. I'm so thankful he's had his cell phone w/ him during the travel phase. Phew!
