I am looking for anyone that has a child leaving for boot camp on Aug. 25.

I am starting to feel some anxiety.  I think after cleaning his bedroom out it hit me harder than I thought it would.  Seven more days and I am nervous for him.  He seems to be fine....its me.  lol

My son left yesterday. Didn't get a phone call but he did use a phone at the airport before his flight left.

My daughter left 8/25 I got the call from her last night at 11:00 pm she was also able to call me when she landed in Chicago. She told me that there were 500 recruits and buses were coming in to pick them up and she was waiting for her bus. When she called me I was surprised at how good she sounded. She is doing better than me!! I am on the verge of tears constantly, she is my youngest of 5. I can't eat or sleep worrying about her but mostly missing her so much already. We did a lot together everyday, working out, shopping and just chatting. I feel so alone already:(

My son arrived at bootcamp on the 25th of August!!!!
Our sons and daughters have been waiting for bootcamp to come and go!! My son wanted to stop the delaying of everything and just get going... They're prepared.. They're gonna get broken down the first week.. The first letter from them they are wondering if they made the right decision... But WE as parents must keep them positive!! Must follow what they have coming up in bootcamp and telling them they'll grt through it...
It's already day 3..... I Told my son there will be hard days good days but in eight weeks at the end is a US NAVY Uniform he gets to wear!!!!we can take this time to get ourselves fit too. We must start doing for ourselves now, because our recruits are doing for themselves. They are going to be all grown up when you see them at Graduation or afterwards. They will be wearing their uniform with pride!!! And I'm beaming with pride!!!! We should be seeing them at PIR oct 16 or 23rd.... The date will be in the letter..... Can't wait for the box to come!!!!! Hang tough moms!!!!

What day do we count as starting bootcamp? Im a little confused, We brought our daughter up on 8/25 spent the night and then she left the next day. So I guess she left 8/26. Would her PIR date be the same as the 8/25 shippers? how long before we get a letter from them? I miss her so much and am writing her everyday.

My wife arrived Aug. 26th and it's been difficult to deal with. We both were doing fine up until the "see you soon" part then it hit us both. She is doing better than I am though, when I talked to her she sounded great. As for me it's difficult adjusting to not having my best friend with me. How are some of you dealing with this?
My wife left aug 25 also. It has been emotional for both of us but I think she is doing better than I am. I am very happy that I found this and reading everybody's post it is making it just that much better. Hope everyone is doing well and that your sons and daughters are doing well. I miss her so much and can't wait to hear from her, I already got some letters ready to go.

Our son left for Great Lakes on the 26th also..........so I am figuring that he is about done with his "P" days and will start the rest of basic on Tuesday mayby?  So I am looking at October 23 or 30th for graduation.  Got the quick phone call at about midnight Wednesday........so strange not to be in contact with him.

Take care,

Sandi

Hi Farah and all,

So excited and nervous. My only son left the 24th. It was a bitter sweet moment at MEPS seeing all the families and seeing him swear in. I hope all goes well and please keep me posted on the graduation.

Don't worry moms all will go as planned for their lives.

Hi Carmen,

It was and interesting experience at MEPS.  There were a lot of people.  It was packed.  I am from MI.  Where are you from?

Have you received your "Boy in the Box"?  I received mine on Friday.  I was so excited to see it......Im not sure why...lol  maybe because I knew he was alright and he had made it to that step in BC.

I can't wait to get the letter with his address in it.  I have been writing him of the happenings each day like a journal...I hope he likes it.

Thank you for being so positive.   I spend about every night on this site because it keeps me busy and I love to talk to people who can relate to what I am going through.

Lets pray we get a letter this week!!

Hang in there!!!  We are in this together!!

I will keep you posted on graduation.....do you have plans of attending?
