Hello!

My boyfriend, Trey, just graduated from bootcamp 2 weeks ago and will be arriving in Pensacola this week to go to A school. I already planned a visit from September 25th through the 30th. Does anyone know what type of liberties he will have by then? He will have been there over a month by then. I'll be there for the weekend until Wednesday. Also if you have any information on hotels and transportation that would be great! I am not old enough to rent a car so I'm assuming I'll have to ride a cab everywhere, but that'll be expensive if I don't find a hotel very close to the base.

Thank you!!

I hope this helps ( I copied and pasted it)

Just got back from visiting my daughter in Pensacola. We really were hoping to stay on base at one of the hotels but that didn't work out.  I searched the internet for a nice yet affordable hotel room that came with a kitchen and a sitting area.  We were able to have my daughter for the weekend as well as three of her friends so that's why we needed the extra room.

After days/hours of searching I found a place and highly recommend it to anyone going to see their kids/spouse in Pensacola.  It's called Cottages on the Green.  The prices are GREAT.  I actually reserved my room on Hotwire but that is only for the room and not the room and living quarters so I would call them first. It's about 15 minutes from base (Back Gate) and is centrally located to stores, restaurants, fish markets, beaches, boat rentals (Lil John's boat rentals).  We got a room (two queens) and for $25 more a night we got the living room, dining room, kitchen and another 1/2 bath.  Ask for the Military discount.  Talk to Kristie.  She is wonderful and will try to accommodate any needs you may have.  She gave us a cot and an air mattress along with linens for my daughters friends.  She let us use a cooler for the boat rental and she even brought us her dvd player from home to watch the PIR dvd.  She is awesome.

We had a shrimp/crab boil for all of us at the condo (table seats 8 people) which was awesome.  Got the seafood from Perdido Seafood Market ( great prices) but we had to buy the pot, so I left it there for the next person to use.  Just ask her for it.

I loved seeing my daughter and she was so grateful that we came to see her. She has been at A School for 2 months and just started classes.  School for her is 16 weeks so we thought it would be good for her for us to come for a visit.  Turns out it was!!!  We will see her in Nov. sometime when she is done with school.

Cherish each and every moment with your sailors!!!!

Trey will go thru 3 phases.  Phase 1 last 4 to 6 weeks.  you can google the phases in pcola.  My experience was, the best time visit is beginning of phase 2 when he can leave base.

Closest hotel is Quality Inn, Ashton Inn, Holiday Inn. so you can walk to gate of the base. I just got home from there yesterday.

Trey, are you talking about Corry or NAS?  I don't believe NAS has any hotels close to base where you can walk.

My sailor is in phase 3 and grads in 2 weeks.
