Hello everyone, thank you so much for welcoming me into your group, and I'm so happy to be a part of it. My husband and i are very new to the military life and I was hoping someone could answer some questions for me. My husband has joined for special operations EOD. I know after boot camp he will be going to panama city for dive school for 9 weeks and after that eglin for his c school for 42 weeks.I was wondering if his orders for dive school and c school will be seperate, and if they are likely to be accompanied or unaccompanied
The reason I ask is I plan to move close to him during his C school , but I need to be there earlier than January 1st because I am also working towards my masters degree in biology during this time. Any direction or help

Mclar614, after bc he will stay at Great Lakes for dive prep and if he passes, he will go to Panama City for the first part of a long journey. Orders are really not separate. EOD is like this- as long as you pass the section that you are in you move forward. It has been a few years since my son was at the school house so maybe some of the Moms who sailors are there now or recent graduates, which I know a class just graduated this past week so Congrads to them.
Do you know by chance if his orders are likely to be accompanied? I'm just trying to get a time gauge on if I need to plan movin on my own and finding housing or if there will be assistance. It may be a little clearer when he's finished boot and allowed to convey information to me
Sorry, can't help you on the accompanied issue. My son was not married when he went through the EOD. Maybe one of the other Moms will know. Mine lived on base for a few weeks and then rented a house with some of the other guys and I think it may depend on their rank. Sorry I could not help.
