My daughter leave Oct 6th and I've been getting super emotional. This is my second go-round. I have a son in Nuke School. His PIR was back in June.
Hi,
My son is leaving for MEPS in Jacksonville, FL on the 6th and will be sworn in and leave for BC on the 7th. I am also looking for someone to share all of these mixed emotions with! Proud and sad at the same time. Knowing that I am going to miss him terribly! I'm not clear on the lingo yet, but his PIR should be in the middle of December. Does anyone know if they allow them to take leave for the holidays? I had one recruiter tell me yes, and one told me no.
Joshual'sMom, your then Sailor MAY be able to have leave for some of the holiday stand down at the "A" Schools. Some commands allow new Sailors to go in the hole on Leave for that and some don't.
You can check in the group/s for his rating. What is his rating (job/specialty) going to be?
Joshua's Mom, I left info on AECF on your My Page. Yes, Those staying in GL usually do get to have Leave for part of the holiday stand down.
My daughter is leaving on the 13th, which is my husbands and my anniversary and it is also 3 days before her 20th birthday. I am excited for her but I know it's going to be so hard to have her gone.
Is there anyone else with a daughter or son leaving on the 13th?
Navymom65, Check in Leavin' for bootcamp in October.
Also, check your My Page.
Today is the DAY! So excited for my sons journey to begin. How could we not be proud of the choice these fine young men and women are making! 1 Hour to flight leaving....8 weeks to go.
