Yankee Candle has a good one--Berrylicious

I think that my husband is missing our son almost as much as I am; just not showing it. Every night when I get home from school, he has something new about Navy or BC to show me. This is a site called NavyDads.com. It looks like the site is current-date wise. He said he probably won't join it and will just get info through me and this site--but he showed me the following article (link below) --it was posted originally in 2009, but it gives a BC perspective from one who went through it.

Your husband can join N4M as well. He may want to check out Dads on Moms.....com. There is also PROUD NAVY DADS, but it is not very active. Yes, there is http://www.navydads.com/ and it does have some good info (but ours is better).

I agree---we all share more.  :)

:o)

Ok, crazy question, but my son arrived on the 6th, and I still haven't gotten the form letter. So I went to his recruiter to see what info I could get. The recruiter gave me a sheet of paper that said his graduation date is 25 November and he is ship 6 division 25. How valid would the info be that the recruiter got? Because it seems like everyone else who had a loved one arrive on the 6th has a December grad date? Thanks for any info you can give.

I am curious as well since I got the same info on my son.  Given that they are in Div 26 it looks like they are the last Div in the TG 03 and others from that day were put in the next group?

They must have been filling a few more spots. His recruiter said he was most likely being "fast tracked" since he joined that group, thus the earlier PIR date. I was surprised to see 11/25.

Some who arrived on the 6th are in a Push Division and have 8 Fridays instead of the typical 9 Fridays. That happens sometimes for those arriving on a Monday or Tuesday as your recruit did. See Arrival and What Happens at the RTC and What does ??? mean? (A Guide to Navy Abbreviations and Terminology) for more on a Push Division.

Wow, as I continue to wait for my former letter! I am confused so I am gathering that they may graduate before Thanksgiving? I thought PIR was on a friday?

CherriJo, the average time to receive The Form Letter is ten days after arrival meaning that some will receive it before that and some will receive it after that. Most will have received it by two weeks after arrival, so if you do not receive it in tomorrow's mail, check with the recruiter and get the address and mail letters to your recruit, but be sure to double-check the address against those at http://bootcamp.navy.mil/contact_recruit.asp or Ship/Division--How it Works.

Since you have not received the form letter by now, I suspect that your recruit is not in a Push Division and is in the 12/04/2015 TG rather than in the Thanksgiving TG, but since others are indicating getting info from the recruiter indicating PIR Thanksgiving week, either date is possible. Yes, some recruits arriving on the same day do have PIR a week apart.

PIR is on Friday most of the time, but when a federal holiday is at the end of the week it moves it up, which is why the Thanksgiving TG always has PIR on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving.

Check your My Page.

Travelgirl67, He is in a Push Division and is in one of the last divisions in the Thanksgiving TG.

Double check the address against those in http://bootcamp.navy.mil/contact_recruit.asp or Ship/Division--How it Works.
