Welcome to the Division Discussion for Divisions 369 and 370

These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important

Every single concern is genuine

Every single member is important to us

We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

We got a Div 369 letter yesterday! It started out, "Holy crap it has been a busy week!" Haha. It wasn't quite as detailed as normal, but still had some great info. Heard some of the same info as KYNavyMomma said.  He loved live fire shooting qualifications, got the sharpshooter ribbon :).  He's a stick also (carries a flag), but it's the one they would get IF they win Captain's Cup, so hoping they do!  I had told my son my Navy for Moms screen name, and he said, "Don't worry, I know your account username. My second RDC read off one of your posts about joining the Facebook group to the divisions, haha!" I'm not sure if the RDC knew I was his mom, or if my son just knew as it was being read... at any rate, it didn't sound like it got him in trouble. More quotes: "We finally actually started getting together as a team too." "We earned 3 flags this week. One for keeping our compartment clean and on spot (there are a million checkpoints), a scholastic flag, and a drill flag." "After we kicked butt this week we are in 3rd out of 10 divisions in points. Not too bad. We just have to keep this up." I know the positions vacillate all the time, but for 369 to be in 3rd even for a day brings tears to my eyes!

Mommacnavy- It  made me feel so good to read your post.... my son has been pretty honest and has held nothing back in his letters and calls about how awful their Div was from day 1....I was wondering if he wasn't maybe sugar coating things just to appease me a bit, but your post just solidified what he said.  I could hear the pride in his last letter.  I've been telling him from day 1 that these 8-9 weeks would mold him into something special (all of them) and that he would have memories and hopefully friendships that would last a life time.  I Know he's been pretty sick and too stubborn to go to medical for fear he would miss out on training. If he hadn't knocked himself silly, he'd probably ended up a lot worse.  I know the RDC's know what they're doing- their version of training just to be an RDC is like their very own boot camp- x 100!  I imagine there will be a lot of surprised parents come PIR when they "meet" their new Sailors :)   My oldest Sailor has been telling me all along to have faith, he will be just fine. I should have listened to him, but heck, I'm a Mom. My sweet boy is a fine young man now, so I do thank the Navy for that. I just know he's excited to move forward.  I would much rather visit him in Goose Creek than Sailor #1 in Great Lakes where he will be stuck for another 8+ months ;)  Less than 2 weeks now.  If they can do it, I guess we can, too!!    Sure wish we could get just a quick call this weekend, but I'm not holding my breath.  I have plenty to do to keep busy and am still writing letters.

Div 369 / 370.....you sure are a quiet bunch :)  I guess most are using the main page to post. Personally hoping for a letter today from my SR. I plan to mail a couple more but then no more letters to boot camp.  The last letter sounded so much better as far as their Division goes. I hope whatever he wrote this past Sunday has the same tune.  I can only imagine the excitement and the anticipation these boys are feeling now that they realize we are in the single digits of our countdown! I packed him a bag to take to him..just a change of comfy clothes for the hotel, his phone & charger, sunglasses, new underwear.  He will be flying out to Goose Creek so we have limited time with him.  I know he will go to the airport at midnight or 2 am Friday night.  I guess we will have to play it by ear as to when we will go meet him.  Does anybody know if we don't happen to get there at the same time as they do, how will we meet up with him? Go to the USO lounge?  I'm thinking that we really would have to meet him there when he arrives or otherwise we have no way to find him or get a gate pass to go back and wait with him until his flight. Are family members allowed just to go to the USO lounge without the escort of their Sailor?

Well, after only getting one letter in the beginning from my SR, I finally got a questionnaire back! YAY! Answers finally.  He said that 370 has 6 flags and counting, I thought that was great news.  How many can a Division get?  The food is still good, there are currently 62 guys in the Division.

I am so happy to read what your son wrote! I know that I have a letter waiting at home for me, my son is in 370, too. So excited that today is the last mail day before getting to see our kids.

Ugh..I went to hit a like button, but there isn't one!  LIKE!!!!
