While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Hello everyone. So happy to find this group! My daughter is in Div 007 and finally got our letters yesterday and phone call today! So very happy and counting down the next 5 weeks. She sounded good and still loving it so I guess thats a good sign. Her main complaint was missing moms cooking. I hope everyone else hears from their SR's soon.

Hope everyone had a great weekend and was able to talk to your SR? We are almost at the Half way point. Anyone know of a good place to take my Sailor to eat after PIR? We are thinking of going to Gurnee mills mall. Just worried it might be too crowded?

After waiting very patiently for my son to call Saturday. I decided to go to the store and as I'm caring in groceries he calls. So I grab my phone out of my pocket and it hangs it UP! So my son calls my husband and it does the same thing. Instantly my heart dropped. The worst feeling in the world. I instantly just start crying because we didn't know if he could or would call back! But he did and it was so great to hear his voice. I really didn't hear what he said for the first few minutes because I was so fixed on his voice! 1 month till we get to see our SR! Happy day, happy day!

Hi Lisa, even after I was able to calm down it was still difficult to hear everything. But we thought maybe it was him talking 100 mph. So it's a relief to know that it wasn't just us.

I wanted to share something my son wrote in his letter about his ship and division. (Ship 04 - DIV 008)
He said, "We're all getting along great and the days go by faster when you have a close knit group of guys like this." He also said, "Every day is going by faster and faster. It's weird, I talk to the guys here like I've known them my entire life. We all are starting to work together really well."
Just thought you might like to know. Sounds like our kids are pulling together and working as a team. We get by with a little help from our friends, right?

Good morning. Hello Navy mom's, just wanted to check in and see if you all would like to share a little bit of this weekend's phone call from our SR? My SR was very tired I can hear it in his voice. that they had just got done with hell week. :( He also said group is doing well has passed test and was excited to fire a gun.:/ This week I believe he said they were doing the gas chamber thing and he's looking forward to it. I'm nervous for him hope they all do well. He was kind of quite at times. I would ask him if something is wrong but said he's just tired. :'( I just can't wait to hug him! (SHIP4-DIV8)

PatsyNavymom... My daughter is in Ship 04 Div 007 and my call from her Saturday was the same. I love hearing her voice and the last call there was more happy in her voice but this last one was tough. She was tired and a little bit sick and a lot of home sick. She was a lit bit more emotional than before and she said she was extremely tired... Today I got a letter and well she wrote on on Sunday a day after the call and she sounded so much better! Happier and more rested. She said hell week was over and she was glad! Excited that PIR in a couple of weeks!! Its tough, that's for sure... keep your head up to mom lol.. it is almost over.
