Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

Also I've seen somewhere that they have to have a certain type of ring? I'm just wondering because I have my ring but he doesn't have his! Please and thank you for the help :)

Is he going to A school after bootcamp? Because it's possible be won't get leave for the holiday, has he already been told he'll get leave? He can have any type of ring he wants but depending on his job he may want a rubber one also for safety reasons

First off, congratulations!!!!!!!!! I got married last Christmas as well after he graduated A/C school. I was pretty worried about the timing since it was all extremely last minute and up in the air until he was actually home. As long as he already has his leave chit approved, there isn't much that could stand in his way. Make sure he talks to his Chief or LPO about whether he needs the chit to get married as well. My hubby didn't have to, but he still put on in just in case. We were a little worried about me not being on his orders for where he was going to be stationed, but honestly as soon as they found out he was married, they planned for me already. Ring wise, as far as I know, there isn't any restrictions unless its one of those over the top types. my hubby wanted a titanium one so that's what he picked out when he got home. After you get married, make sure you have plenty of copies of your marriage certificate. They took a total of 3 over the first month! After he gets to where he is going, he can update all his DEERS info and get you into the system asap since it can take a little bit of time to go through. For us, he left to duty for only 15 days before all of our stuff went through and I could move to him. If he is still going to A/C school though, it will depend on how long his training is as to whether or not you will be able to go with him.

Thank you so much! Well he's graduating 11/6 and his a school will begin soon after but somewhere I read that it would be "okay" to get married durin a school because he's an AECF and his school is really long! But I'm not sure if that's correct. You read something and then turn around and see another thing! Lol & okay thank you!! :-)

If he is in school, he can take a week or two of leave during the holiday stand down. Depends on the school how much he will be allowed. I'm assuming he will be in school, yes? The fleet is different.
Because he is on leave, he gets to skip the special request chit the schools require. He can run it anyway, to give them a head's up and find out what he needs to do for you as a dependent. They cannot deny it.
He can wear a wedding ring as long as it is not flashy or "faddish". A plain band is fine. Depending on his rating, he won't be able to wear it while working for safety reasons. He will need a chain to put it on, OR you can look at some of the bands which are not metal for everyday wear. My husband and I did not usually wear our rings as ETs, and didn't get formal rings until we'd been married a few years. Depends on his job.

Well I read somewhere that they get 2.5 days for every month, is that correct? If so then he will have 7.5 days which is totally fine! :)
yes he will be in both A/C school. He's an AECF and I read somewhere since his school was long, getting married during was okay.
& I'll tell him about the chit ASAP.
Okay might get a titanium one and a rubber or silicone one! -

I was an ET, which is one of the AECF ratings. Yes, the school is very long, expect him to be at Great Lakes for nearly a year. This school is long enough that borrowing some extra leave days for the holiday won't be a big deal, he will have plenty of time to earn them back, plus enough for a week between A and C school. C schools tend to be long also, and none for AECF are at Great Lakes.
He can decide whether or not he wants to do the chit if he plans to marry on leave. I suggest that he does do it, and goes to the class. It looks better to his chain of command, and the class he has to take has good information. Expect some push back, because many Navy people do not encourage marriage during A school. The reasons are understandable, but each couple should make their own decisions. I can go over what to expect to hear in the way of objections, so you know what rough spots you might hit. Up to you!
Live Ashore for AECF is usually approved, and takes about a month. He can apply in phase two. Many spouse travel there to set things up in order to be ready when approval goes through.
