I've been told by a former Navy and someone that went through the GL BC that a picture of our SRs is available in uniform. I see on the site here that we can purchase pictures--does that include the individual SR and well as division?  And the shirts and yearbook- and video pf he ceremony--are those things still available? The post appears to be from 2013--- If so, do the SRs order them or can we do that as well? I just like to be prepared. I know my son would not necessarily think of things like this right off , but would regret it later. I would like to surprise him.

See the info in Division T-Shirts, Graduation Photos, The Keel, and DVD of PIR. You cannot order anything until after PIR.

Week one of BC is done and week 2 underway. From a Military ,com site regarding BC-they should be working on confidence building and teamwork this week.

Missing my son like crazy.

Can anyone give any info about the Serge Meet and Greet the Thursday before PIR? What is it, where, what can we expect? What time is it? Is it required? I am trying to determine when we should fly in. I have sen a few comments here and there, but no info that I could see that gives full details. Any help would be great.

Thanks

There is info on Sarge's Meet and Greet in the Events tab above. Click the calendar and the day before PIR. Also see info on it and more in PIR Day and Liberty During PIR Weekend.

Just having one of those days when you miss your son so much, nothing can keep you from crying. The one thing my son and I are hoping for besides the happiness and pride that comes with his graduation is that his grandfather can hold on to see that too. My father has pancreatic cancer and where it was located, treatment and the power of prayer,  he has held on for 10 years now but has reached the end.  I was saddened when we heard the Dr's say he has 2 months, exactly a week before my son left for BC. I continue to pray that this strong man I have know to be so strong for so long dealing with all that he has had to, to survive this long, can hang in there just a little bit longer. I know that when they are in BC, they cannot leave for any reason. I know when my son gave my dad a hug and said goodbye, knew that there was a possibilty that would be the last time he would see him. I hold on to faith that he can watch him when he does graduate, live stream of course cause I know he is too weak to fly. I hold on to hope.

tammy8 - I am saying a pray for your father and son! Sometimes we just have to cry and release the stress and worry so we can let it build again.  I know that no matter what happens your Father will watch him when he graduates, I pray that you will find peace as well!

Thank you so much

Tammy8 - so understand what you're saying about those days. I had one last week and the tears simply would not stop!! I will pray for your Dad to hang on...something tells me he will! :) Smiles and strength to you!!

Tammy8 --I am sending you a hug. I have to believe that the power of positive thoughts, laughter and prayers are more powerful than a Doctor giving a date. We all have our own expiration dates (metaphorically) and no one knows exactly when that is except the person that is near that time. Your Dad may be weak of body, but the heart, mind and soul can do wonders and are stronger than the body that houses them. If there is a way, I am sure he will find it. I have lost several people over the last few years--father-in-law, step-mother-in-law (his wife), and my mom. I have a booklet that we found at my father-in-laws that kind of gives insight into the last stages of our lives. It was written my a nun/nurse. If you would like a copy of it, I can send it to you--just send me a message to my page. We found it helpful and it eased the paid a bit.

I am so sorry that you are dealing wth so much. You have a good support group here and we can all send prayers for you and your family.

I am sending positive thoughts and prayers your way for you, your Dad and son.

Thank you so much. Lifted my spirits up!! I will message you cause I would love a copy.

Prayers for your Dad and your SR!

Just curious--I have not seen anyone from Ship 14 Div 027; I know of two on the brother ship.  Anyone out there in 027?

Also, just signed up for Serge's meet and greet for the night before PIR --hope to see other Moms (and Dads too) there.

Hope everyone is doing better today. Hope all the letters have come and boxes too. Hopefully we will start getting mail soon from the SRs.
