Welcome to the Division Discussion for Divisions 009 and 010
These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.
Get to know each other, your SRs are!
Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.
Every single question that is asked is important
Every single concern is genuine
Every single member is important to us
We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.
Hang in there!!!

Have you gotten to speak to him more than one time?
I really hope this is not true as my sailor has not spoken to a single person since he was at the airport. We didn't even get the I'm here call and then the phone was nothing but a loud buzz when he tried to call home. We don't even think he has received a single letter that has been mailed to him at this point either as his last letter asked us to please send letters. I am now officially falling to pieces.
Kim, Don't panic. I just received my 3rd letter from my recruit today. I'm assuming he would've written it on Sunday. He said he's received 6 letters from me - I've sent 10. The week before, I got a letter that said he had received 4. They seem to be delayed, but they will get through to your recruit. Sending a "hug" to you!
MaeRay - I just saw your post. My son is a MM SS in division 9, leaving for A school in Groton, so we might be the family you're looking for. :) Would love to connect with you, too!
I got a letter today! My recruit is dealing with "dry sockets" where his wisdom teeth were removed. He said they've been really busy and have pulled a few all nighters (DIV 010). He did say he should be able to call on Saturday. It sounds like everything is going well (except for his teeth).
Finally heard from my SR! He sounded really good and reports things have gotten much better in Division 009. Sounds like the boys that have been having a hard time are learning the program. 20 more days and counting!!!! This momma has been having some separation anxiety but feels so much better. It has been a long month without hearing his voice!!
So glad you heard from your recruit - and that it was great news!
Got my call yesterday too. I found out my recruit was friends with another person in this group's recruit. A nice surprise! I'm looking forward to seeing my new friends, as well as my recruit, at PIR. We'll be at Sarge's - I hope I'll see many of you there. I saw in another group - people who go to Sarge's will also put their IDname on their name tags at the gathering. I plan to do that - I hope you do too so I can say "HI" in person!
