Found out Friday that my son will go to BC on 11/09/2015. Proud, excited, nervous, the emotions are many.

kcbnme, I left info for you on your My Page.
I went to his swearing in this morning and am back home now waiting for "the call." I know they were still sitting at O'Hare as of 6:00 pm CST, but don't know what is going on now...hoping the call comes soon, but know it could be really late, too.
Birdie, Welcome to the next part of the journey.
Check your My Page.
Got my call about 15-20 minutes ago. Glad to hear his voice. Now begins the "waiting game"
My son left yesterday and I got the scripted call at 10:00pm last night. This is tougher than I thought. Looking forward to his form letter so I can write to him.
Will be a long couple of days for my son. He had to be at his recruiter's office at 10:00 yesterday, and she drove him to the hotel. 5:00 am wake up call for a van to MEPS this morning. Everything is done, he has his orders and travel arrangements, and swears in in 15 minutes. Then off to the airport, but his flight doesn't leave for another 6 hours. He won't land in Chicago until around 9:00 tonight. I expect my phone call will come in the wee hours of the morning!
Arrival and What Happens at the RTC within Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones) will let you know what will soon be happening and what to expect.
What time did his plane land in Chicago? My son landed about 20 minutes ago, and wondering what his time frame is for getting going on things for him. Is there usually a long wait at the airport for a bus? He said there were five on his plane from Denver.
By the way, I hate that his car is parked in front of my house. If his car is there, I should be able to walk in and talk to him, and I hate that I can't!
Hah! I agree...my son actually did a fairly good job, but he cleaned like a boy. So when I opened a drawer and found candy wrappers even though he took the trash out, and found a hamper full of dirty laundry and a wadded up sock under the bed, I had to laugh! The Navy will get rid of that!
