Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

I took off tomorrow to spend the day with my son, Tuesday to see him
Off with the recruiter and Wednesday to go see him get sworn in...then he is off to GL. I plan to wash walls in the kitchen and basement to keep me busy! I bought 8 flags to be put up each Friday as we count down the weeks toward the end of BC. I plan to write a little note on the inside of his wallet! This sure is tough...you all are making it a wee bit easier! -

We were lucky enough to travel to the hotel and spend the evening with our son. We drove to the coast and had a wonderful family dinner overlooking the marina before driving back and watching a little Monday night football in our room. In the morning we will go and watch him swear in, hug him and let him go. I'm hoping I can be strong for him tomorrow and fall apart after we get back to our car! Lord give me strength!!!!!!!!!

ShellyEllyBoo and LisaG...well the day is here! Lots of emotions...i had a very nice...but boring...day yesterday with my son. We hung out, laid on the couch and watched reruns, i made a nice lunch, took our dogs for a walk. It was nice and low key...he got a number of good luck calls...all asking what he was doing...his response was spending the day with my mom ❤️...i dont know if we are ever ready...but i feel a certain calm so i am thankful for that.

My son, along with 7 other sailors are still stuck at the Denver airport due to a blizzard. They are hoping to get to Chicago today. Are there any others that shipped yesterday but are still trying to get to Chicago? Also, what happens if they arrive late to boot camp?

When weather prevents recruits from arriving as scheduled, those who arrived as scheduled start to fill a division and others are added as they arrive, which may mean that some will have extra P-days as they wait for others to arrive. Those who arrive after the expected date will be placed in the next division that is filling when they arrive.
