OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

My son left today. I miss him terribly already and can't wait to hear his voice. Excited to find out when PIR.

I'm leaving the house in about 10 minutes to take my son to the Recruiter's Station.  He said we could meet him tonight for dinner, but since we celebrated Thanksgiving yesterday . . . and he's excited to start this process.  I saw his Recruiter when we were out to breakfast this morning and he said they will be leaving around 4 a.m. to go to the airport.

What field will your son be training for once he's out of Boot Camp?

Ours left today too....very mixed emotions!
It has been a very long day and coming home to an empty house has been challenging. He is our only child.

NDNS04, check your My Page.

As I dropped my son off, I am reminded that not all getting dropped off today have supportive families.

My husband and I thought the same thing. Our hearts broke for those who didn't have anyone there.

My son and I had already discussed that if he wants to bring someone back with him from Boot Camp for that week after, he's welcome to.  We figured he would meet kids who don't have a "home."

My son left today as well. I'm missing him so much and feel so empty inside. Wondering how I'm going to get through this everyday without him at home. Waiting for his last phone call now.
I'm anxiously awaiting as well. Today was miserable saying goodbye. I miss him terribly already. Everyone says to be strong and I was until I walked into my house and everything is a reminder that he isn't coming home.

NothingButProud, I left info for you on your My Page.

Mine left yesterday, had to travel to get to MEPS. Just got that last call... I hope the time passes quickly!

Thomas' mom, I left info for you on your My Page.
