Welcome to the Division Discussion for Divisions 049 and 050

These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important

Every single concern is genuine

Every single member is important to us

We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

I meant 049

I sent a message to my son's recruiter.  He had told me to let him know if I didn't get it.  I'll post on here what he tells me.  Very frustrating.  My son told me he sent it when we talked on Saturday.

Leanna,  my son called me Friday night and said they were finally going to let them send the form for Adopt-a-Sailor, but I am going to have to fax it back as there will not be enough time if I mail it.  He said I should get it early this week. Crazy that they waited that long to allow them to send it.  He said the only reason they got to make a quick call Friday night was to let us know it is on it's way.   :) Yay!  I'm happy now.

Not sure if this will 'help' or not. My son is DIV 50 and we received the yellow letter in his letter yesterday. Unfortunately, we can't participate as we are in FL. "(

Are you talking about, FlaGirl65, about getting your son Xmas day? I am the same as you, I live in FL. Can only go to the graduation. Sure hope my guy does something special on that day. Tough, since we can't really mail them something special. Just hope we can talk to them.

If the recruits family can't make it there are churches, VFW, American Legion that adopt them. On Thanksgiving AT&T donated phones, so they could call home, and I seen in pictures they had computers set up for them.
Yes, Donica...that is what I was talking about. Because we live in Florida -- we aren't eligible to 'adopt' anyone. Hopefully, another family will. "D

Yes. Hopefully our son's will have a good Xmas day. I've heard either a church or charity will give them a nice meal. Hoping they make a call too. That would be nice. Where are you staying for PIR? We will be at the Hilton Garden Inn. Had some points to stay there. It's about 5 miles from the base.

Hi again Donica. I have heard that as well. I hope it is true. We are staying at the Holiday Inn in Libertyville. When I called the # on that informational sheet we got the lady I spoke with recommended it. I have even purchased a winter coat! Looking forward to PIR...I hope to meet you in person. BTW, are you going to the meet and greet at Sarges?

Funny, us FL girls have to buy or dig out of the back of closet, a winter coat. I was just looking at mine today. Should probably get it cleaned. Not sure when I wore it the last time. Ha! Not sure if we will get to the meet & greet. Our daughter is flying in too. Might need to just get supper near the airport.

BCF had amazing cyber deals on Saturday after Thanksgiving...otherwise I would be freezing my butt off! "D That's awesome that you family will be there to support your recruit! "D We are driving up. Not sure what to expect after graduation but we will cross that bridge when we get there.

FlaGirl65 if you are on facebook make sure to follow U.S. Navy Recruit Training Command, they post random pictures of the recruits training and hope we get lucky to see our recruits sometime during the next few weeks!
