Hi! My daughter applied for the NROTC nursing scholarship in mid September, should I be worried that she hasnt heard anything yet? Is the online status usually up to date? How will she find out? She checks multiple times a day, SO STRESSFUL!!!

Thank you for that helpful link! Although we did know it was a difficult scholarship to receive, 20 percent acceptance rate is new news to us!

I completely understand the stress that goes along with awaiting an NROTC Nurse Option application result. DD's application was complete by September 1st, 2013, and she didn't hear that she had been awarded the scholarship until April 28th, 2014. As it was two days before commitment day, she had resigned herself to plan B and was ready to move on it when her status changed in the portal. The official letter came even later. There were only 19 Navy Nurse Option scholarships awarded that year nationwide. Also, we were told that Nurse Option boards meet far less frequently than even the regular NROTC boards. All this is to say that it's a LONG haul and news may not come for several months yet. There may not even have been a board convened for Nurse Options at this point. That was two years ago so things could certainly have changed, but I wouldn't be worried that she hasn't heard anything yet. I hope that helps. Good luck to your daughter!

Thanks so much! Good to know that no news at this point is normal!

May I ask where your daughter stood on GPA as well as ACT scores? I would love to compare hers to my daughters to see how high her chances are.

Hello!  I just sent you a friend request.  I also have daughter doing this right now! (NROTC, not the nursing scholarship, though)  It would be so nice to have someone to talk to going through this.  I understand your stress!!!!

Has anyone heard back about their kids Navy Nursing Scholarship?? My daughter is still waiting!

There are only 19 scholarships for nursing being given out for fall of 2016.  3 have been given out so far.

Clarification on above...19 nursing scholarships NATIONWIDE.
