Welcome to the Division Discussion for Divisions 047 and 048

These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important

Every single concern is genuine

Every single member is important to us

We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

Any families of a SR recruit with initials BS?  Ship 14 Div 48

I asked this question on another forum and didn't understand the answer, so I am going to see if anyone on here knows. If your SR is graduating on 12/31/2015, this is a Thursday. What will their schedule be for Thursday through Sunday. It was my understanding that if they graduate on a Friday, you could spend the weekend with them. How does the change from Friday to Thursday change the days you can spend with them. Do they get to stay off base for those nights that you are there after graduation? I know they have to report to A school at some point the following days, but when is that and how long does the move take? Any help with these questions would be appreciated. I am unsure of how many nights to book a room for.

mason It depends on where your SR is going to A school.  If he is staying in GL then you will have the weekend, but no they do not get to spend the night off base, they will be able to spend day with you and back to base at night.  If he is going to another location for A school your SR won't know travel plans until a day or so before PIR.   We did get confirmation  no sailors flying out on January 1st.  I changed my flight and hotel to stay until Sunday 3rd so we could meet our sailor at the airport on Saturday to wait with him for his flight, he is flying to South Carolina for A school.  I also booked my last night at a hotel closer to Midway (our airport) for Saturday night instead of going back to Waukegan.  Hope that helps :)  Make sure to join our PIR group because the veteran moms are a great source of information and they see the posts on there.  They don't check into our individual division groups as much.  Also if you accept my friend request I can send you the link to join our PIR group.  I'm new at this also but hope I'm helping you and not making it more confusing!

Thanks for the info. Mine is staying there for A school. I know they graduate on a Thursday, which is kind of out of the ordinary from what they usually do. I wonder if we get to see them Friday or if we have to wait for Saturday morning to spend the day with them? I was hoping maybe we got the extra day since it is on Thursday.

mason:  You should have Friday with your new sailor since it is a Federal Holiday.  BUT...you will also have Sat. and Sun. with them as well.  They just have to return each night to the A School base.  They move over there after PIR is over....takes a few hrs and then they are yours until early evening.

Thank you. I was hoping for the extra day. I am so anxious to see him as I a sure everyone on this site is to see their child. Miss him so much!

Mason there is also a meet & greet you might want to attend the night before.  It's not Navy sponsored but attended by many families from the N4M sight.  Sarge has a great list of helpful information as well if you check him out on here.  Here is the link for our night

SARGES MEET AND GREET ** WEDNESDAY** 12-30-15 for P.I.R.12-31-15

I would love to come to that, but we are traveling from a good distance and probably won't get there until around midnight that night. I would love a heads up on what to expect for graduation. If I can leave early, I will attend the meet and greet. Thank you for letting me know.

Hi everyone. RTC posted a picture of Div 47 during their DMI on the RTC Facebook page. I saw my husband in a few photos. You might see your SR also!

I can't wait to get home to look!!  I have terrible cell service at work, thanks so much for posting Boms_wife :)

I'm slowly getting to see them while at work & have found 3 so far of my Recruit!!  Made my day and crying at work, thanks again for sharing the information!!

I am glad it made your day. It made mine as well!
