For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Just received three letters from my husband today. In addition to seeing him in 3 of the photos posted by RTC, I'd say today is a VERY good day!
My husband said in his letter that there are only 65 of them now in their division and they lost 3 SRs last week due to medical issues and some people not wanting to continue with training. My SR said that even his new bunkmate who is from KY is thinking of dropping out. That part really made me sad. They were on 3-2 as of Dec 2nd.

That is sad to think they've gotten this far and wouldn't want to finish. I think my son went in knowing completely what he was getting in to and this was his choice, maybe not for all. Better to decide now if it's not your thing. Such a great opportunity though to walk away from. I'm hoping for a letter when I get home but last week it wasn't until Friday so I'll be happy seeing the pictures. I am so happy to see him and then receiving letters regularly and the 2 calls it makes me feel a little guilty :( as I know not everyone has had contact. Congrats on your letters. I'll try and figure out who your husband is, he's the one in the combat boots and shaved head right! ;)

Yes, he's definitely the one in the combat boots and shaved head! Although, there is a close up of three guys, my husband is in the middle and he is wearing a chevron stripe and an eagle on his collar. I was ecstatic to see such a close of him. I was so happy I sent my mom and my mother-in-law the picture.

Thats so cool! My son is in 3 shots but one is really good. There are 5 SR standing at attention by the racks and he's the 2nd in the row really tall kid with the ugly hair cut! I took a screen shot and shared with my friends and sent a text to my husband. How lucky with all the recruits there to have ours in the random shots. Says it was taken yesterday which matches the letter I received today on what their schedule looked like this week.

I believe your husband is my sons new bunkmate. I know he is struggling at this time with his decision. He is the youngest of three boys and we have always been a very close knit group. He says he is over the homesick part, but feels he did not think this decision through completely. We have tried so hard to stay positive with hime and encourage him. He was on a delayed entry program and had almost 7 months before he left after graduation. I think if he had gotten to go when he first made this decision, he would have been more confident in it. As a mom, I have shed many tears over his decision to go and now have shed many for his indecision about this big decision in his life. We are praying constantly for God to help him make the right decision for the direction of his life. It is sad that he has gotten this far and is still not happy. I am praying he thinks this part through better than he did his original decision he made. We have encouraged him to seek guidance from the chaplain and he is doing so.
