Welcome to the Division Discussion for Divisions 045 and 046

These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important

Every single concern is genuine

Every single member is important to us

We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

To myboyaustin ... thank you. Yes its tough. She called today and we wont really know anything until Friday but hoping to graduate anyway. Thank you so much for your prayers and thoughts.
barabarab....yes I am aware of your daughter working with my girl Sam. It is so nice to meet your here in this forum
Thanks for the kind words and I do hope to get to meet you and myboyaustin on the 31st.

Docj, I pray it is treatable with a hernia belt to manage the pain so she can graduate on time.  Could you pray for mine in 45, please?  She has a calf injury, and still has 6 more weeks of doctor care.  She tried to pass the run this time anyway, but the pain was too bad. Running quickly isn't her strong point even at best.

Hope she heals quickly!

Heard from our son yesterday, it was tough, he was ill and it sounds like the division is struggling a little. My heart breaks today. I know this journey isn't easy but when it sounds like our son is homesick it makes me sad.

Judy: my son as well has been homesick  I talk to him on Sat. Those phone call are the hardest, I  try to stay strong for him and break down cry after the phone call. I keep telling myself it will get a little better after bootcamp they will have more library to make calls

"at less I hope"

add the fact the feeling of BIG accomplishment the boys well feel when graduate hopefully will out weight the homesick.

   Sending prayers your way

Thank you, and you too. Two weeks to go!

Judy and Texas Mon, I am sure you have been told by other former soldiers so I don't mean to sound like a broken record, but keep telling your son that this is the hardest part of the military (non-combat). If he can ( and you know he can) make it through boot camp he will make it through anything.  My father and other members of my family have told me this same thing. It is good for a boy to have this challenge to prove to himself that he is a man. It is hard for us to have our boys who were for 9 months a physical part of our body be a way from us,  our boys will make us proud once they become our men.  We were given the best and most important job on this earth so our boys could find their own paths and what they learned from from us and how they are tested in boot camp will help guide them the rest of their lives. They will know they can make it and we will make sure they know.  I hope this rambling of mine rallies your hurting hearts a bit.  16 days! We can hug our men in 16 days!

It's my first time to hear that!  Thank you.

THank you!

This is a really important message to get out.  I have one son who graduated boot camp in November, and his twin will graduate on the 31st. The boys have been separated from one another for  4 months for the first time in their lives and it's been very tough on my son who is in now.  The first phone call home left me a wreck, because he broke down crying at the end of it (he'll KILL me if he finds out I told anyone that!), however, subsequent letters and phone calls have been much more positive and that does much to soothe my nerves.

I told my son that when he gets through boot camp, he'll be so proud of himself that all of the hardship and homesickness will have been worth it.  Let's hear it for our boys! (and girls!)

Jmermaid,  the bootcamp boys do also become brothers, not twin, but very close. When my son's friend cried after his phone call his navy brothers hugged him because they knew what he was going through. I am sure your son is finding that same brotherhood. These guys must work together and take care of one another or they will never be a real team.  While you may have bee a wreck at home, know that your son was not alone. He was with his navy brothers that will have his back.

On an odd note: I was just working with a mermaid artist last week. She does a lot of different things, but her calling card is a mermaid. She has a stunning figurehead of a mermaid from an old ship in her house on a column. She was in the merchant marines a long while ago so it is a part of her. Just a side note.

And yes, everyone sing "Let's hear it for our kids" (neutral gender

MyBoyAustin,

I collect mermaid art!  I'll try to upload a picture of some of my recent finds that are now hanging in my kitchen!
