For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Hi mason, my husband did say that your son went to speak to the chaplain about it and was told to wait until Monday to make a decision. No matter what he ends up deciding, I am sure he will still make you proud. My husband said even if your son chooses to leave the Navy, they will be keeping in touch. He said they have things in common and he has enjoyed befriending your son.

Please allow me to gush a bit! I got a letter from my son today. He was given what he called "a promotion", something called Starboard Watch. He says that he schedules all the watch times and "make sure everyone knows what to do and how to do it". This is one of the Recruit Petty Officer positions, right?
Anyway, he sounds very upbeat and positive. He said the more than one of the RDC's have given him compliments on how he's doing with this position. I'm one proud mom! :)

I received two letters yesterday and my son sounded very upbeat. He did say the letters and pictures from family were so helpful in lifting his spirits. I just want to say thanks to all of you on this site it has been a real comfort to connect with others going through the same experience. Will keep the recruits that are struggling in my prayers.

Surprisingly, I got two more letters from my husband in the mail today. It was weird that the letters didn't all come at the same time, but it was a nice surprise. My husband mentioned in his letter dated Dec 6 that they are supposed to make phone calls "next week". I'm not sure if that means this weekend, or next week. I know I'll be keeping my phone close this weekend and the rest of next week! He also said that everyone must pass their final PFA and final written tests by Dec 23, or otherwise be ASMO'd.

We got our call also. I told my son that we had made contact and he said he really enjoyed getting to know your husband. My son loves to fish and he said your husband likes to also. Just hearing his voice today was great.

My husband told me today that your son decided to stay. I hope your son is well and it makes me proud to hear that he decided to stay. I'm not sure if you saw the pictures that RTC posted on their Facebook page. I think your son is standing next to my husband. There are three pictures total that had them both in it. One of them is a closeup!
My husband said he'd like to one day visit your son and go on a fishing trip together. We definitely will have to meet each other at PIR!

I see that some of your SR are struggling with their decision to join the Navy. I will tell you at this point in their training it is not unusual to hear this. They are ever so close to when things start to turn around for them (week 4). Give them all the encouragement you can to get them through that week, they will see a huge difference. :)
