Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

I received my box today as well and my son's recruiter sent me his address yesterday. I don't think the recruits find out what ship they are going to until tomorrow, but apparently the recruiters get the information in advance. It might be worth a call....

Wait on the form letter before sending any letters. Sometimes recruits change divisions and sometimes the whole division will be placed in a different Ship than the one that is in the system for the recruiter and mail will be delayed to your recruit if it is sent to the wrong address. Besides, the PAO at the RTC asks that loved ones wait on The Form Letter before sending mail.

My son shipped out of San Antonio on 1/11. I just received his box this afternoon. He texted and sent me selfies the whole way to Great Lakes. Got that brief phone call at 2 am. But I know it'll all be worth it in the end. Oh and he's attending school in Greats Lakes too. He's a AEFC. This first week has been the hardest for me, there's not one second of the day that I don't think about him.

Yea, I got my box today too! I will be sure to check the mail tomorrow for the form letter, I can hardly wait to get a letter off to him.

Appleblossom, it's too early for The Form Letter. Ten days after arrival is still the average time to receive it. Arrival and What Happens at the RTC within Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones) will let you know what is happening and what to expect. Your recruit MAY have finish P-days Friday and mailed it then, but he may have another day or so to go.

Oh darn, I thought I had seen where some mom's have received the box and the letter close together. He got there late Tue night so maybe tomorrow will be his last P-day. I am just so anxious.

Yes, some do receive them very close together, but the norm is to get them few days to a week apart.
