For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Work for Military Spouses
Hi all, we are getting ready to PCS to Jacksonville, North Carolina. I recently graduated with my college degree and would love to get my career going. We are concerned because Jacksonville is pretty small and doesn't seem to have much professional opportunity with me. I have been in contact with a couple organizations who try to supply military spouses with remote professional work, but have had no luck yet. I am wondering what any other spouses have gone through regarding this? Wilmington, NC is larger but it is about an hour away from us but that isn't a commute I would love to make. I'm sure there is a place on base designed to help spouses with this too I'm just not sure where to look. I would love to hear about any past experiences and get advice!

Fleet and Family Support Center, FFSC, are the people who can help spouses with job hunting tips and tricks.
Their website seems a little stale, but should give you an idea of what is offered.

My husband and I are currently in Jacksonville. I'm not sure if your husband's duty station is Csmp Lejeune or New River, but they have an employment office for dependents in the TT1 housing area at Lejeune. When I first movrd here i was only able to find jobs for my field in New Bern and Greenville, the travel wasn't really worth it for me. I'm not sure what you went to school for, but if you studied healthcare or administration you can also try working as a contractor on base.

Thanks. We'll be at Lejeune, so I'll look into that. Do you live in TT? We are also looking into living there. My degree is in Communication and public relations, so idealy I'd like to get into Communication marketing but with a Comm degree I could do just about anything even if it isn't my ideal job right away. I'm worried I'll have to resort back to nannying (which I've done for about 5 years) which I enjoy but I'd really like to start a career. Anyway, thank you for your input!

We live in TT. There's TT1 and TT2. The houses at TT2 are a little more modern than TT1 and all the houses in TT2 have a fenced in backyard while TT1 doesn't. I personally love the base housing at TT. Sometimes they have specials where they'll give back a portion of your husband's BAH for the first year. The waitlist is usually not long (if there's even a wait). We got approved for our place the next day and were able to get our keys 3 days after.
